Pearls & Stripes.

The sunshine warmed my heart today. I really needed it after the week I had had. It's all behind me now and there's no looking back, just forward...to tomorrow. So, when I woke up this morning, I knew it was the dawning of a new day, a fresh start. So I got up and put on my pearls & stripes and let the new day begin. 


 





 

 













I love dressing up, whether it be that I am going to work to teach the kids or running errands, like I did today. Pearls always make me feel wonderful, whether it be a simple pair of studs or a necklace, and today I thought, "Why not? Let's wear both!" The stripes are a constant in my wardrobe. They are cute, feminine and ultra nautical. This tee is from the original makers of stripes-Petite Bateau! Oui, you say?

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. Valentine's Day 2025

Every year we absolutely love celebrating Valentine's Day and this year was no exception. I have been fortunate that my husband could take time off work to spend the day with me. There were so many options of what we could do and where to go, places like the countryside in the Yarra Valley or beach town of Torquay, but we ultimately decided to stay in Melbourne, as the weather was going to be around 23 degrees Celsius. There are many choice of cafes in Melbourne, but one of our favourites is  Hello Sailor . I first stumbled upon this quaint cafe when shopping in Auburn Village, located in the leafy suburb of Hawthorn. I pre- ordered an almond croissant as they often sell out and since I cannot eat garlic nor onion, I am very limited with choices. Hubby chose the beef tacos which he enjoyed with a fresh juice and I enjoyed the loose leaf Earl Grey, which is served in the chicest see-through tea pot. Olga De Polga

Melbourne based designer Olga de Polga  is renowned for their use of colour and vibrant patterns. I really enjoy adding a pop of colour when I style outfits, so if you love colour, you are bound to find something fabulous. On my recent visit, I picked up two pairs of Lillian pants, a new style to ODP, in both pink and caramel. These colours go so well with other pieces in my wardrobe. Style tip: I will not add anything to my wardrobe if it doesn't go with other pieces, so I am very particular when choosing a new piece to add to my collection. The cords fit really well, sitting at mid-waist and fall at the perfect length. The corduroy fabric is soft and feels so cosy, so perfect for Winter here in Melbourne!  Have you visited Olga de Polga? If so, what are your favourite pieces?
