Valentino Ready To Wear Spring 2014

When I first saw the new Ready To Wear Spring collection for 2014 by Valentino , I died, in a fashion sense of the word or in the words of Rachel Zoe herself.  The feminine silhouettes seen in this collection manage to fuse classic lines, youthfulness and sophistication together to make something quite gorgeous indeed. The fresh tones of candy pink and lime green, along with hints of floral bouquets are reminisc ent of the beauty of Spring itself. What's your favourite look from this collection? Well, beautiful peeps, I'm finally on holidays! I'm ready to celebrate Christmas with family and friends and feel truly blessed for all I have in my life.    Thanks for your support over the past year. I am very grateful to you. xx Wishing you and your family a fabulous Christmas, filled with many magical moments that warm your heart. I'm looking forward to showing you my Christmas outfit, so stay tuned. Until next t

Karen Walker New Rose 2013-2014

I always get excited with every new collection created by uber-talented New Zealand designer, Karen Walker. The styles, prints and colourways are so appealing to me that I find her collection quite irresistible. There's always more then one garment I fall in love with. Karen Walker's New Rose collection is no exception. So what exactly is Karen's inspiration behind her New Rose collection? The inspiration comes from the UK, utilitarian meets feminine. It's a different kind of prettiness you'll see on the runway this time. Other influences relate to UK music, The Damned and Siouxsie Sioux.  I'm looking forward to seeing Karen Walker's new Spring/Summer 2014 collection. It'll be featured here soon, so watch this space. What have you been up to this weekend? Have you done all of your Christmas shopping yet? Thank God mine is all done now. I spent most of this afternoon in the garden, tending to the cottage plants which s

taking time out

I've been so busy lately with work commitments, report writing and life in general. I feel like I haven't had much time for myself, so I decided to change things up a bit last weekend. To pep myself up, I chose to wear this Karen Walker silk dress. I love this because it has a vintage feel. It was rather chilly, so I jumped at the chance of wearing my favourite knee high boots ever! Of course, rainy days call for a handbag that can tolerate a bit of rain, so I decided to take my leather Miu Miu out with me.  I needed to run a few errands, so while I was out, I enjoyed a relaxing stroll down to the shopping strip along Balcome Road, Black Rock.  I love visiting one of my favourite boutiques, Pearl Rock , located at 603 Balcombe Road. Pearl Rock stock Australian and New Zealand designer labels, such as Karen Walker, Megan Park, Flannel and The Ark, plus a huge range of fabulous accessories. While I was there, I checked out

Monochrome for the Melbourne Cup

I love dressing up. Even though we spent Melbourne Cup Day celebrating at home, I still got into the spirit of it all. I chose a monochrome look with a simple black top, cream brocade skirt, black floral headpiece and some black Mary-Jane pumps. I love the fact my wardrobe allows me to choose to make a bold statement with colour or to keep it sophisticated with monochrome tones, depending on my mood.  Do you tend to lean towards colour or do you prefer the monochrome look?  Can you believe how fast the year is going? It seems like just the other day that my husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary back in October. Cup day has been and gone and now we are starting to think about Christmas! Wishing you a fabulously fashionable week. Yours in style, Suzi x Brocade Skirt: Maria Westerlind Top: Filippa K Heels: Repetto Headpiece: Target Australia

Spring racing Audrey style

I closed my eyes and imagined what Audrey Hepburn would be wearing to the Melbourne Cup. I could picture her sheer beauty and elegance. These images provide inspiration to all of you who are attending the races. For those of you not attending, why not use these images for inspiration when planning for your next special occasion. Hope you're enjoying your weekend! For my readers who live abroad, the city in which I live, Melbourne, has a very special horse racing carnival during Spring, so we get a day off on Melbourne Cup Day, this coming Tuesday, 5th of November. Some people are lucky enough to get a long weekend, like myself.  Today my husband and I went for a drive to Ballarat. The weather was just perfect for a lovely little picnic. Yours in style, Suzi x

Anna Thomas S/S '13

There's a designer who ticks all of the boxes for me as far as tailoring to my own personal style goes, and that's Australian designer, Anna Thomas.   H aving marked a decade in Australian fashion design this year, Anna Thomas has every right to celebrate. This talented designer has perfected the art of mixing & matching garments effortlessly together, in complimentary colourways. Anna's attention to detail and tailoring is impeccable.  What I love the most about Anna Thomas' Spring/Summer '13 collection is the mix of prints and textures worn together. There's something chic about pairing stripes with prints. The colours are vibrant and perfect for the warmer weather. I adore Anna's use of colourways, my favourites being lemongrass and nautical navy/white/aqua (as pictured). I'm more for the classics than the trends, I really appreciate it when a designer can work classics into contemporary pieces for
