Gold Brocade

Late last year, I saw this beautiful cream and gold brocade skirt in one of my favourite boutiques in Port Melbourne, Diva Scandinavia. I was hoping to find something to wear for Christmas, but nothing caught my eye. Just when I was about to give up, my husband drew my attention to their sales rack. There it was, the skirt of my dreams, and it was half price! How c ould I resist? An added bonus was the fact this it was a limited edition piece. SOLD! The funny thing about this skirt was that prior to purchasing it, I had a picture in my mind of the exact same type of brocade skirt, but thought I'd have to get it made because I had seen nothing like it in any of the shops I frequent. Little did I know that I would find it hanging on a rack, ready made, and in my size too. Life's funny like that sometimes. Some things are just meant to be. I had another very full-on week of work and the Summer holidays I had not that long ago now fe

Stripes and Sequins

It's been another hot Summer's day in beautiful Melbourne. We have had a run of great weather of late, which I can now fully appreciate, since it's the weekend! I love wearing natural fabrics in Summer; my favourites being cottons and silks. I found this striped cotton top in a space bag which lives underneath my bed in the cooler months. I've only just started to wear it again, as I had forgotten all about it. Ah, nothing beats shopping in your own closet! I used to wear this striped T with shorts for a very casual beach look, but now I love dressing it up a bit with a classic black skirt and some chic sequins. Do you love shopping in your closet too? Hope you're having a fabulous weekend so far. I'm looking forward to going to my aunty's house tomorrow for lunch to celebrate her birthday. T he weather is going to be nice and warm again. Now I just need to decide what to wear... Keep in

Weekend Bliss

My first full week back at work seemed to go on for so L-O-N-G! I was singing Alleluia, very loudly mind you, when Friday finally arrived upon my doorstep!  Weekends for me are pure bliss! I just can't get enough of them . The only downside is that, before I know it, they're gone and the new week of work begins once more. As I ease myself into the working week, I start to look forward to the weekend all over again!  Today is my favourite day of the weekend . Saturdays seem to give me a zap of energy, which always make me feel like dressing up and taking myself off somewhere.    I chose my beautiful Miu Miu handbag, which is just perfect for running errands, always looks cute and is so versatile with its detachable str ap. Along my travels, I stopped off at my beauty suppliers to buy some cute Essie nail polishes. Stay tuned for more details!     Here's my five top reasons for why weekends for me are pure bliss:

Ginger & Smart in Melbourne

I was so excited to hear that Ginger & Smart were opening up a boutique right here in Melbourne. I was even more excited to find out that they were going to be situated right in the heart of Hawksburn Village, home to several beautiful boutiques and designers. Ginger & Smart is the label behind two very talented and creative sisters, Alexandra and Genevieve Smart, whom already have three stores, located in Sydney, Melbourne being their fourth. Upon entry , I was instantly impressed by the interior design elements of the store itself, with polished floorboards, clean lines and hints of metallics throughout, including delicate rose gold & velvet lined coat hangers.  I was greeted with a glass of sparkling champagne on arrival and a warm, friendly welcome. I chatted at length to one half of Ginger & Smart, Alexandra, whom I found to have such a warm and down-to-earth persona. It was a real pleasure meeting her today & I wish Alexandra and her sister, Genevieve
