Playing with Prints

When it comes to prints, I like to keep mine simple. Anything that's too big and bold overwhelms my petite frame. I found this beautiful white silk blouse back in October, when I was looking for something pretty to wear to our anniversary dinner.  I couldn't resist the skirt, which has the same cute little boat print. Very nautical!

I find that when mixing prints, choosing similar prints in contrasting colour ways is the way to go. Have a bit of fun mix and matching. Keep accessories simple and let the prints do all of the hard work for you.

This is the outfit which I wore to our family Christmas Eve celebration last night. It was the perfect evening, catching up with family. The food was pretty amazing too!

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, filled with wonderful moments to cherish. I hope you have had a beautiful day!

  3. This is a really nice and fresh look. You remind me a bit of Jennifer Love Hewitt (in her hot days).

I am following your blog now, do you want to follow me back?

  5. What a phenomenal pairing! I am so jealous that you have lovely weather - it's just plain old cold and not snowy here in Denver!

    1. Elizabeth, what a sweet comment. Thanks so much.
Yes, we are lucky to have such lovely weather here. I can imagine how cold it must be where you are in Denver. The snow must look so pretty.

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!  For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette. Check out

Ballistic for Bally

I have always loved Bally , especially their shoes. They're made with the softest, luxurious leather I have ever worn. Bally were my first ever pair of high end designer shoes and they fit like a glove. So this post is going to be dedicated to one of the most prestigious design houses and their amazingly comfortable, chic shoes.  Here's some of my favourites from Bally's new S/S '12 collection: Which is your favourite? I love the classic black Otty-Crest pump and the teal and navy Palda wedge sandals. Have a great week! Mine will be an interesting one. I finish teaching for the term this coming Wednesday and go on a staff retreat to Creswick for the rest of the week. I'm looking forward to breathing in the crisp, clean country air! Olga De Polga

Melbourne based designer Olga de Polga  is renowned for their use of colour and vibrant patterns. I really enjoy adding a pop of colour when I style outfits, so if you love colour, you are bound to find something fabulous. On my recent visit, I picked up two pairs of Lillian pants, a new style to ODP, in both pink and caramel. These colours go so well with other pieces in my wardrobe. Style tip: I will not add anything to my wardrobe if it doesn't go with other pieces, so I am very particular when choosing a new piece to add to my collection. The cords fit really well, sitting at mid-waist and fall at the perfect length. The corduroy fabric is soft and feels so cosy, so perfect for Winter here in Melbourne!  Have you visited Olga de Polga? If so, what are your favourite pieces? If you haven't been in store yet, make sure you do so soon, because some styles are selling out really fast. Have a great rest of the week! Yours in style, Suzi x  What I'm Wearing ODP Lillian pants
