OPSM Eye Hub

Up until recently, you would not know that I wore glasses, unless you know me personally, that is! I have never taken any pics of me wearing my glasses and published them on here. I have been so bored with my old pair of Booth & Bruce (London) glasses that I was in desperate need of a change. And so the story goes...

When I first commenced holidays, I had compiled a list of errands to run and appointments to schedule. One of my priorities was to organise to see an optometrist and purchase a new pair of eyeglasses. I had heard so many wonderful things about the OPSM Eye Hub that I had to check this fabulous new concept store out for myself. Was I disappointed? Read on to find out!

The OPSM Eye Hub is located in Hawthorn. On entry, I was greeted by their friendly concierge. I couldn't believe my eyes with the number of designer brands they stocked! I was literally speechless and that doesn't happen to me very often.

Stocking over 2000 frames, there is a style to suit everyone's taste and budget. While I was waiting to see the optometrist, my personal stylist started by collecting all of the pairs I liked. She put them aside for me until after my appointment. I thought this was a brilliant idea as it took the stress out of having to try them on after having had an eye test.

My optometrist, Spiros, was knowledgeable, friendly, approachable and professional. He answered any questions I had with confidence and ease. I often feel a little anxious when having an eye test as the eyes are quite delicate in nature. However, the eye test was a breeze, so I would highly recommend you booking into see Spiros. Tell him I sent you!

Out of the several pairs of eyeglasses I had initially chosen, I narrowed it down to two pairs, Prada and Burberry. Could I choose? Well, no, so I ended up buying both!! Plus OPSM gave me a further discount for buying two pairs, which was an added bonus.

I love both pairs for different reasons. They are both quite different and as a result, give me different looks. The Burberry pair is a very neutral colour, which I was wanting. It doesn't really feel/look like I am wearing any glasses. The Prada pair make quite a style statement with their shape and tortoiseshell colour.

So what do you say about my new eyeglasses? Which ones do you like the best, or like me, are you finding it hard to choose?

What are your plans for the weekend? I'm really looking forward to getting my hair styled tomorrow with a colour, cut and blowwave. I always feel fabulous afterwards.

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!  For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette. Check out

Ballistic for Bally

I have always loved Bally , especially their shoes. They're made with the softest, luxurious leather I have ever worn. Bally were my first ever pair of high end designer shoes and they fit like a glove. So this post is going to be dedicated to one of the most prestigious design houses and their amazingly comfortable, chic shoes.  Here's some of my favourites from Bally's new S/S '12 collection: Which is your favourite? I love the classic black Otty-Crest pump and the teal and navy Palda wedge sandals. Have a great week! Mine will be an interesting one. I finish teaching for the term this coming Wednesday and go on a staff retreat to Creswick for the rest of the week. I'm looking forward to breathing in the crisp, clean country air! Olga De Polga

Melbourne based designer Olga de Polga  is renowned for their use of colour and vibrant patterns. I really enjoy adding a pop of colour when I style outfits, so if you love colour, you are bound to find something fabulous. On my recent visit, I picked up two pairs of Lillian pants, a new style to ODP, in both pink and caramel. These colours go so well with other pieces in my wardrobe. Style tip: I will not add anything to my wardrobe if it doesn't go with other pieces, so I am very particular when choosing a new piece to add to my collection. The cords fit really well, sitting at mid-waist and fall at the perfect length. The corduroy fabric is soft and feels so cosy, so perfect for Winter here in Melbourne!  Have you visited Olga de Polga? If so, what are your favourite pieces? If you haven't been in store yet, make sure you do so soon, because some styles are selling out really fast. Have a great rest of the week! Yours in style, Suzi x  What I'm Wearing ODP Lillian pants
