Dressed for the occassion

Christmas is such a special time of the year. This year, my husband and I shared this occassion with our mothers, at a quaint restaurant, Verona at the Gateway on Monash. The food was divine, service was great and the company was, of course, wonderful.  For all special occassions, one must wear suitable attire. I was lucky enough to receive the perfect garment for Christmas from my husband, very fitting for an occassion such as this. Instead of a Little Black Dress (LBD), I chose to wear a Little Navy Dress (LND) and I do prefer the latter. Why? You ask, when the LBD rates so very highly on the top ten must-haves in a woman's closet?  Well it's simply because navy is a softer, more feminine choice of colour and oozes French c hic. You must try it some day, if you haven't done so already, and you will be amazed at the result. M a de with the softest crepe fabric, this LND feels lovely on the skin. The drape of the dress itself

Playing with Prints

When it comes to prints, I like to keep mine simple. Anything that's too big and bold overwhelms my petite frame. I found this beautiful white silk blouse back in October, when I was looking for something pretty to wear to our anniversary dinner.  I couldn't resist the skirt, which has the same cute little boat print. Very nautical! I find that w hen mixing prints, choosing similar prints in contrasting colour ways is the way to go. Have a bit of fun mix and matching. Keep accessories simple and let the prints do all of the hard work for you.  This is the outfit which I wore to our family Christmas Eve celebration last night . It was the perfect evening, catching up with family . T he food was pretty amazing too! Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, filled with wonderful moments to cherish. I hope you have had a beautiful day! Yours in Style, Suzi x Skirt(with belt) & Blouse: Max & Co Black pumps: Bally

MYDEERFOX

While I was having a bit of a wander through cyberspace, as I do, I came across a photograph of a bag by MYDEERFOX . But this was not just any bag, it was AMAZING. W hy? You ask. Because MYDEERFOX bags are not like anything I've ever seen before. I love unique designs + they're modern, chic and practical. Three essential element's for the stylish fashionista. Take for instance their PASTA CLUTCH ( love the name ! ). There are little loops for each finger to comfortable slide into when carrying it. This is practical right? Oh, and not to mention chic too. I just love it!  Nude or black are the colour options. and with these two shades matching a long list of colours, I do believe this handbag designer is onto something pretty spesh. MYDEERFOX creations are designed in New Zealand by Lisa Li. Lisa would  build things using construction blocks and construction kits as a child. Her f lair for construction & design is apparent in h

Going Nude

A couple of weeks ago, I was looking for a nude lipstick for times when I want my eyes to be the main feature of my look.  I usually buy a lipstick called Venetian Rose by Estee Lauder, but it has been discontinued, much to my disappointment. So I needed to find a lipstick to replace it. Suffice to say, I didn't find the exact same shade, so I decided to go nude! The Rouge Dior Nude collection by Christian Dior is fabulous . Not only does the lipstick have a nice, subtle fragrance, it glides on perfectly and comes in a very chic blue/black embossed casing. My second purchase was a gloss from the Dior Addict -U ltra Gloss collection . This non-sticky, non-tingle gloss, glides on smoothly with a brush applicator. It promises to plump up your lips. Not sure if it does or not. I'll let you be the judge. My third beauty purchase was a nail polish by Chanel in Rouge Noir , a beautiful deep burgundy colour. I cannot wait to wear it to show you wha

time on my own

Today I had the day to myself because my husband had to work. Although I love spending time with him, I think it 's really important to have time on my own sometimes.   I live for the weekends because my work as a primary teacher can be rather exhausting. After having a sleep in, I spent the rest of the morning hanging about the house, playing with my dog, Scruffy. It was the perfect start to the weekend.          Later on in the afternoon, I drove over to my mum's place and she made me the perfect cup of peppermint tea. I love our chats and time spent together. I love weekends! What did you get up to? Have a great pre-Christmas week, whatever you do. Enjoy this magical time of the year with your family and friends.  Yours in style, Suzi x T-shirt: Target Gym 3/4 tights: Lorna Jane

tartan pleats

So my Saturday started off with a visit to my favourite hairdessing salon, Rokk Ebony . My fabulous hairdresser, Yoshi, cut my fringe and now I can see again!! Just kidding. I always feel fabulous after seeing him. The weather here in Melbourne has been incredibly hot, and today the mercury soared to 37 degrees celsius. Well, with Melbourne being Melbourne, this evening there has come about a cool change, dropping to only 19 degrees. At least the cool change brings fellow Melbournians a pleasant breeze and relief from the scorching heat of the day. We spent the day at home, enjoying a scrumptious barbecue with my husband and mum. Nothing beats the company of those you love. Later, I spent some time decorating our Christmas tree, with carols playing in the background. Now our home feels like Christmas.  Wishing you a fabulous evening, whatever you do. Stay happy and wonderfully fashionable. Yours in style, Suzi x Top: Max &
