Classics: The White Shirt

Nothing beats a crisp, white shirt. Of all the classics, the white shirt has to be the most versatile. Worn casually or for evening wear, the white shirt is a timeless favourite.  I love wearing the classic, white shirt as a layering piece, underneath sweaters. I fold the sleeves up at the end for a preppy look. I also love the way a crisp, white shirt looks on its own in warmer weather.  I am going to be on the look out for some new shirts for Spring/Summer. I'd like a white shirt with a peter pan collar to add to my collection.  I hope you had a wonderful time this weekend. I have really been enjoying watching the athletes at the London 2012 Olympics. My husband and I watched the opening ceremony last night, which was fabulous!  Have a great week! Yours in style, Suzi x

Goodbye, my friend

Whenever I walk into Arabella Ramsay on High Street, Armadale, it's just like popping in to see a friend. The ambiance inside this boutique is really quite special, like nothing I have ever experienced before. There's a kind of quietness and peace within. So you can imagine how saddened I was with the news of Arabella's closure of this really special boutique. It was a great surprise to me and I was lost for words. I was relieved to read in the email I received from Arabella Ramsay that her designs will still be available online and in other "new and exciting places" in the near future. In the meantime, I urge you to visit from 9am, Friday, 27th July, to receive up to 80% off and to see for yourselves just how special this place really is. So, this post is dedicated to Arabella Ramsay and her divine boutique. I wish you every luck Arabella in your new venture. Thank-you for sharing such a special part of yourself with us. Ryder

Meet my new Ryder jeans by Melbourne based designer, Arabella Ramsay ! I love them. They're a real no-brainer when it comes to being comfortable and looking chic. If you don't own a pair, you don't know what you're missing out on.  I would wear these every day if I could get away with it, but my work as a teacher requires me to look professional at all times. So I save these beauties for weekend outings, when I go out for a cuppa to relax and unwind after a busy week. What would you wear every day if you could? Have a great week beautiful people!! Stay stylish! Yours in style,  Suzi x Jeans: Ryder by Arabella Ramsay  Sweater: Eugenie Cashmere T-Shirt: Petite Bateau Boots: Paul Green

Classics: The Trench

How can one still be ever-so-stylish when it's raining? Is it really possible? The answer is yes, of course. Just make sure you're wearing a trench coat.   Audrey Hepburn showed us just how fabulous one can look during rainy weather when she famously wore a trench coat in the iconic movie, Breakfast at Tiffany's. I don't know anyone else who could have looked this good, what, with wet hair and all! She emanated such grace and style!  Why bother spending so much on a trench coat? you ask. The answer is pretty simple. You will have it forever. Now, that's what I call investment shopping. I don't know about you, but I would rather buy a quality garment which I will have for years to come, rather than buying several over the years, which end up in the scrap heap anyway. If you're going to invest in one trench coat, make it a Burberry trench coat.  Would you skimp or save on a trench coat? Please share your

Eugenie Cashmere

Did you know that cashmere is actually ten times warmer than wool? Cashmere comes from the soft, downy fleece of goats living in Inner Mongolia. Being someone who really feels the cold, cashmere is the only thing that gets me through the cold winters. Without it, I don't know what I'd do. I simply could not survive. So where do I purchase the majority of my cashmere items? Let me share a little secret of mine. In Melbourne, there is a very special boutique which specialises in cashmere. I'm talking about none other than Eugenie Cashmere . Eugenie Cashmere used to be called 8 Inkerman, since this is where their first boutique was situated.  When 8 Inkerman moved premises last year from 8 Inkerman Street, St.Kilda to 457 High Street, Prahan East, they renamed their boutique Eugenie Cashmere, which is the name of their label. Eugenie Cashmere have a wide selection
