Apple of my Isle

I couldn't wait to complete this special feature on the fabulous Melbourne designer, Arabella Ramsay. Her eponymous label began in Arabella's bedroom, after graduating from RMIT and spending some time in Paris. She returned home to Australia, ever so inspired.  Finally, once demands for her designs skyrocketed, Arabella opened up her very first boutique on High Street, Armadale. The year was 2006. Fast-forward to 2012, and Arabella Ramsay is still going stronger than ever.  Arabella Ramsay grew up on a farm, and her childhood memories of the animals, the land and her family, have become a great inspiration for her collections. The inspiration behind Arabella's The Apple of my Isle collection, stemmed from a recent trip to Tasmania, where she used posters from the 70's and unusual left-of-centre buildings in Hobart, as a basis for her designs.  Arabella has included her family in her business, which I found to be really amazing. Her newborn, 'li...

Vintage

Today I was checking out some of the posts on Facebook and came across a feature for Arabella Ramsay . I adore Arabella Ramsay and completed a special feature on her a while back (see it here) . This immediately prompted me to check out her website and since she was having a sale, it seemed most opportune. I fell in love with a few items from Arabella's Vintage range, my favourite being a pair of vintage sailor jeans. They are so darn cute and I love how comfy and flattering they look. Here's the jeans and my edit from the Vintage range.  I'll be heading to Arabella Ramsay this weekend to check out this range. Fingers crossed I find something ever-so-fab to show you guys. Keep your eyes posted on my blog for updates.  Have a beautiful weekend, doing whatever makes you truly happy. Have fun & keep smiling! Until next time... Goodbye, my friend

Whenever I walk into Arabella Ramsay on High Street, Armadale, it's just like popping in to see a friend. The ambiance inside this boutique is really quite special, like nothing I have ever experienced before. There's a kind of quietness and peace within. So you can imagine how saddened I was with the news of Arabella's closure of this really special boutique. It was a great surprise to me and I was lost for words. I was relieved to read in the email I received from Arabella Ramsay that her designs will still be available online and in other "new and exciting places" in the near future. In the meantime, I urge you to visit from 9am, Friday, 27th July, to receive up to 80% off and to see for yourselves just how special this place really is. So, this post is dedicated to Arabella Ramsay and her divine boutique. I wish you every luck Arabella in your new venture. Thank-you for sharing such a special part of yourself with us. Your boutique, just l...

Arabella Ramsay Haul

So what did I buy from Arabella Ramsay's Winter Solstice Sale , you ask? A skirt and some coloured jeans! Having been on holidays, I have noticed a bit of a gap in my casual wardrobe, so I have acted upon this by buying myself a pair of navy jeans by Arabella Ramsay. Made with Japanese twill, these jeans are super comfy. They fit like a glove, except the length, so are as a consequence are at my tailor, The Invisible Seam , being altered.  My second garment is a fabulous mustard coloured woollen skirt, just perfect for cold, wintry days. I love the flirty pleats and feel fabulous wearing it!    I love the packaging my purchases came in, especially the beautifully printed tissue paper.  I will be posting pics of how I've styled these new items in the not too distant future, so keep your eyes peeled on my blog. Better still, become one of my highly valued followers. That way, you'll never miss out on all of the exciting things...

Ryder

Meet my new Ryder jeans by Melbourne based designer, Arabella Ramsay ! I love them. They're a real no-brainer when it comes to being comfortable and looking chic. If you don't own a pair, you don't know what you're missing out on.  I would wear these every day if I could get away with it, but my work as a teacher requires me to look professional at all times. So I save these beauties for weekend outings, when I go out for a cuppa to relax and unwind after a busy week. What would you wear every day if you could? Have a great week beautiful people!! Stay stylish! Yours in style,  Suzi x Jeans: Ryder by Arabella Ramsay  Sweater: Eugenie Cashmere T-Shirt: Petite Bateau Boots: Paul Green

First day of Spring!

I made a huge leap of joy in celebration of the first day of Spring! Spring has finally sprung in Melbourne and I love it! I had really had enough of the l-o-n-g Winter we have had. I am happy to leave behind cold nights, rugged up in winter woollies, walks with the dog, wearing what feels like fifteen million layers, with the goal of trying to keep warm. You see, I feel the cold badly. Now that Spring is here, I feel comfort in knowing the sunshine will warm the cockles of my heart and make everything feel just so wonderful. It's a wonder what a bit of sun can do for the soul. Oh, how I love Spring! I enjoyed sitting in the sunshine today and took some happy snaps of my outfit. I really love these Arabella Ramsay skinny jeans and the lightweight cashmere sweater I have on is one of my favourites. My Repetto patent leather wedges are extremely comfy and I always feel fab wearing them (oh, and tall!). Thanks to Deb at Treasurette for stocking this Parisian label. I wish I ...
