Luxury online shopping

I'm no stranger when it comes to shopping for designer clothing online. I have to admit that I still enjoy browsing in stores, although the ease and convenience of buying online is something which continues to attract, not only myself, but millions of people every day. Adding an item to the shopping basket is as easy as a click of a mouse. Net-A Porter is the 'world's premier online luxury fashion destination' 1 . Net-a-Porter first opened by founder, Natalie Massenet, 14 years ago, back in the year 2000. Since then, it has remained one of the best online shopping destinations for high-end designer women's clothing and is it any wonder. Their packaging and customer service is faultless. While browsing Net-a-porter recently, I found the most adorable navy cotton-silk blend skirt by high-end designer Burberry London. Luckily, my size was still available, although marked 'low in stock', and with one simple click, the skirt was added to my shopping ca...

This week's designer in focus: Ralph Lauren

This week's designer in focus is American designer, Ralph Lauren . Ralph Lauren began designing for men only, back as early as 1968 and worked for his own label, Polo Fashions. Ralph Lauren later branched into women's fashion and is wasn't until much later that Polo fashions became a public company in 1997, trading as Polo Ralph Lauren, as it is known today. Ralph Lauren have several labels, so for those of you new to this designer, it can be a little bit overwhelming. I will share three of my preferred labels with you. The Blue Label collection is perhaps the more affordable of the ranges. The label is renowned for the famous multi-coloured polo shirts, sporting the famous polo player in contrasting colours. The Blue Label collection is my go-to label for classic pieces, especially classic button-down shirts, which I wear to work. The Black Label Collection is my favourite label for special pieces to be worn after five. In particular, I am a huge fan of the cas...

Cashmere Princess

If there were such thing as a Cashmere Princess, I would be it. Cashmere is my absolute obsession. I would wear it 24/7 if I could and I pretty much do. The creme de la creme of cashmere is milled in Scotland. Burberry is one design house who prides themselves in offering garments made from Scottish yarn. Their sweaters are also manufactured in Italy, a country renowned for its superb craftsmanship.  The new Burberry Prorsum Autumn/Winter 2014 collection consists of my new guernsey detail sweater in classic colours (click here to view). The sweater featured also in Burberry Prorsum's Spring/Summer collection as well in classic and brights. What has caught my eye in the new collection is this cashmere and silk sweater in  mid-grey melange tones. It is a more fitted style and I am after a sweater that can be tucked into skirts. This would be perfect.  Well, report-writing time is officially over. Now for the parent/teacher interviews next week. Next Friday ma...

Burberry Prorsum Guernsey Detail Cashmere Sweater

After completing my, 'What's missing in my closet?" checklist, I decided it was time to update my cashmere sweater collection.  I own one cashmere sweater from Pringle Scotland and love the way this cashmere feels. It was without hesitation that I decided to place an order for a sweater made from Scottish yarn, from the new Burberry Prorsum Spring/Summer 2014 collection. I felt certain that I would be receiving something very special. My garment of choice was the guernsey detail cashmere sweater in the colour grey melange. I love the guernsey detailing and the wide bands on the hips and cuffs. The cashmere is buttery soft and feels so luxurious against the skin. I was excited to pick up my sweater today from Burberry Chadstone.  I cannot wait to wear it and know I will continue to do so for many years to come. Well, it's report writing time for me at present, and I can tell you that, although it is part of my job as a pri...

Burberry Prorsum Spring/Summer 2014

I adore the new Burberry Prorsum Spring/Summer 2014 collection. The Scottish-milled cashmere sweaters, cardigans and coats, paired with delicate lace dresses and pencil skirts in sorbet colours is pure sophistication, chic and elegance.    For those of you who have been following my blog for some time, you will know all about my love affair for cashmere. The most beautiful cashmere is milled in Scotland, where only the best, finest cashmere is used.   With that being said, my favourite pieces from the Burberry Prorsum collection have to be the sumptuous cashmere sweaters, cardigans and coats. If I could have one of each, I wouldn't hesitate. How has your week been so far? Hope it's been fabulous! Mine has been so busy and I'm looking forward to the weekend, even though I'll be working on my student reports. Lucky me! Keep in touch! Yours in style, Suzi x

Audrey turns 85

Audrey Hepburn was to turn 85 today, the 4th May, 2014. So today, we remember Audrey as being the incredibly charming, graceful & elegant woman she was known for. A woman who was not only known as a style icon, wife, mother, animal lover and Hollywood starlet, but most importantly, a dedicated humanitarian. To me, style not only encompasses what you choose to wear, but transcends to who we are as people, how we live and treat those around us. I thank Audrey Hepburn for being not only a style inspiration to me but most importantly, for being a example of a kind and loving person. Happy 85th birthday Audrey! Enjoy your weekend beautiful people. Yours in style Suzi x Images from Google with thanks x

LBD with a twist

I love Melbourne, not only is it the place I call home, it is also home to some of Australia's most talented designers. This LBD is by the Melbourne label, Very Very .  I actually didn't buy it in Melbourne though. I found it in a quaint vintage style boutique in Bairnsdale, of all places.  I love the cute buttons which feature on the faux pockets and on the left shoulder. These accents give the dress a rather mod feel. The sleeveless shirt I am wearing underneath is by Melbourne designer, Jolet . It's silk and has a digital print of a beach sunset. I have worn it in a few different ways on the blog. See here and here . I adore the collar with its nude pastel tone and thought it would look sweet underneath my dress. Well, my holidays are almost over. I've thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family and friends and doing the things I don't usually have the time to do when I'm working. Oh and relaxing! ...
