beautiful botanics

One thing you may not know about me is that I enjoy pottering around in our cottage garden, located in the front of our property, in my spare time. I always feel wonderful when I connect with nature in this way.

I also really enjoy spending time walking around beautiful gardens, be it the Melbourne Botanical gardens, Olinda's Rhododendron Gardens or the Ballarat Botanical Gardens, which happens to be one of my personal favourites.

Whenever my husband and I travel to Ballarat to visit family, we always make a special trip there. It's just gorgeous! You've got to go if you haven't done so already. The only downside is that Ballarat can get very cold at this time of the year, so you need to make sure you rug up!

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt! For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! Ballistic for Bally

I have always loved Bally , especially their shoes. They're made with the softest, luxurious leather I have ever worn. Bally were my first ever pair of high end designer shoes and they fit like a glove. So this post is going to be dedicated to one of the most prestigious design houses and their amazingly comfortable, chic shoes. Paint Spot

I've always loved dresses with spots, ever since I spotted Julia Roberts from the movie Pretty Woman, wearing one. They're so feminine and pretty. A couple of months ago, while perusing Karen Walker 's Spring/Summer collection online, I eyed this paint spot dress and couldn't resist it. I decided I would wear it on Christmas Day, rain, hail or shine. I was so lucky Melbourne's weather was behaving itself that day. Lucky for me! I cannot believe Christmas has been and gone already and now we're into the new year. Over the festive season, a wonderful time was had, catching up with family and my closest friends. We made the traditional roast with all of the trimmings and it was such a perfect day. Christmas has to be my favourite time of the year. How about you? What did you do?
