What I wore: LMFF 2013

In my last post, I detailed my experience of my very first L'Oreal Paris Runway event as part of this year's LMFF. It was such an incredible time for me, I'm already hanging out for the next one!

I was hoping that the weather was going to be hot because I was intending to wear my sheer silk blouse by Jolet and my favourite Yeojin Bae silk skirt. However, Melbourne had a bit of a cold spell last week and I had to change my original plans.

I decided to wear a short sleeved cashmere sweater to take the chill off the air and a skirt made from a heavier fabric. This turned out to be the perfect choice for the night. It meant I was comfortable and could enjoy the fabulous evening of fashion.

I'm not usually one for hair accessories, but I simply couldn't resist this divine handcrafted Cathleen Jia piece. I love how it ties up in a bow at the back. It's an incredibly versatile accessory to own as I've even worn it as a belt (see this post).

Have you ever been in a fashion fix because of the weather?

Tomorrow is Easter Sunday. We're having a quiet family lunch at our house. I'm looking forward to having a relaxing day! What are your plans?

Don't forget to follow me here on the blog and on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook

Wishing you the perfect Easter!

Yours in style,

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!  For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette. Check out

Ballistic for Bally

I have always loved Bally , especially their shoes. They're made with the softest, luxurious leather I have ever worn. Bally were my first ever pair of high end designer shoes and they fit like a glove. So this post is going to be dedicated to one of the most prestigious design houses and their amazingly comfortable, chic shoes.  Here's some of my favourites from Bally's new S/S '12 collection: Which is your favourite? I love the classic black Otty-Crest pump and the teal and navy Palda wedge sandals. Have a great week! Mine will be an interesting one. I finish teaching for the term this coming Wednesday and go on a staff retreat to Creswick for the rest of the week. I'm looking forward to breathing in the crisp, clean country air! Olga De Polga

Melbourne based designer Olga de Polga  is renowned for their use of colour and vibrant patterns. I really enjoy adding a pop of colour when I style outfits, so if you love colour, you are bound to find something fabulous. On my recent visit, I picked up two pairs of Lillian pants, a new style to ODP, in both pink and caramel. These colours go so well with other pieces in my wardrobe. Style tip: I will not add anything to my wardrobe if it doesn't go with other pieces, so I am very particular when choosing a new piece to add to my collection. The cords fit really well, sitting at mid-waist and fall at the perfect length. The corduroy fabric is soft and feels so cosy, so perfect for Winter here in Melbourne!  Have you visited Olga de Polga? If so, what are your favourite pieces? If you haven't been in store yet, make sure you do so soon, because some styles are selling out really fast. Have a great rest of the week! Yours in style, Suzi x  What I'm Wearing ODP Lillian pants
