LBD Project Launch

Last night, I attended the launch of the Little Black Dress Project at Melbourne Central Community Garden. The launch was a celebration of Cheryl Lin's LBD Project exhibition, her fabulous LBD Project book, and Business Chic's 3rd birthday! Now that's three great reasons to celebrate!

The LBD Project is all about one little black dress and an innovative girl, Cheryl Lin, who wears it to work once a week for an entire year, and manages to find 52 different ways of styling it, either by adding a mixture of shirts and blouses or by mixing it up with accessories and shoes. I often find it quite the challenge to style the same dress in varied ways, so I feel that the LBD Project book will be an invaluable resource for me. Click this link to pre-order your copy today! It would make a great Mother's Day gift too, so why not order two copies?

It was really great to see so many familiar faces at the launch; people who I hadn't seen in so long. I loved catching up with everyone during the night and, of course, celebrating this fabulous achievement with Cheryl. Would you believe that Cheryl managed to write her book in the space of only two months, while continuing to work full-time in her day job? That's that's dedication for you. Cheryl Lin is one hell of an inspiration to what we can achieve if we set our minds to it.

The LBD Project Exhibition is open to the public, is FREE and runs for the entire month of March as part of the Loreal Melbourne Fashion Festival.

This week as been so crazy at work and home! We have had our beloved dog, Scruffy, in and out of the veterinarian clinic, as he has been really ill. He will undergo more tests tomorrow. Let's hope we find out what is wrong with him so we can help him to get back to his happy, healthy self once more. He's really my most loyal and loving best friend! I love him to bits.

Keep your eyes peeled on my blog for my next post with lots more pics and details about my outfit!

Have a great Sunday and enjoy the coming week!

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!  For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette. Check out

I love miu mui

My absolute favourite international designer has to be mui mui . I find myself falling in love again and again, with each new season collection. Muiccia Prada's label is fun, feminine and fabulous!  We're really lucky to have a mui mui store in Melbourne actually. For anyone who has ever been to Chadstone Shopping Centre, you would know it is the fashion Mecca for anyone looking for high-end designer clothing and accessories. Every single time I go to Chadstone, without fail, I pay a special visit to mui mui. I know mui mui garments, shoes, and accessories are on the more expensive side, but a girl can dream right? There's just something extremely appealing to me that keeps me coming back season after season. Now to save up for a piece to call my own some day...            Do you have a high-end international designer who you really enjoy? Who is it and what makes them so appealing to you? Enjoy t

Ballistic for Bally

I have always loved Bally , especially their shoes. They're made with the softest, luxurious leather I have ever worn. Bally were my first ever pair of high end designer shoes and they fit like a glove. So this post is going to be dedicated to one of the most prestigious design houses and their amazingly comfortable, chic shoes.  Here's some of my favourites from Bally's new S/S '12 collection: Which is your favourite? I love the classic black Otty-Crest pump and the teal and navy Palda wedge sandals. Have a great week! Mine will be an interesting one. I finish teaching for the term this coming Wednesday and go on a staff retreat to Creswick for the rest of the week. I'm looking forward to breathing in the crisp, clean country air!
