LMFF Paris Runway 7

They say there's a first time for everything and last night saw me experiencing another first; my first ever L'Oreal Paris Runway event! I was filled with so much excitement, as I made my way into Central Pier, Docklands, care of my chauffeur, aka husband

Cuddling up to the cutest Dulux dog I have ever met, was such a sweet way of starting off a night which was going to be filled with many magical moments. I had the pleasure of attending the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival, Paris Runway 7, presented by Frankie Magazine

On the runway, the following Australian and New Zealand designers showcased their new Autumn/Winter collections for 2013: Gorman, Kuwaii, Leonard St, Limedrop, Secret South, and my two absolute favourites, Karen Walker and Jolet

Much to my sheer delight, Karen Walker started off the show. I've always been a huge fan of hers, much more so recently. My favourite looks from the Fantastique Magnifique collection were the knits, in the prettiest pastel colours with the cutest of spots. Who can forget that pink A-line coat. LOVE!! I have huge cravings now!

Another highlight from the night was the Autumn/Winter 2013 collection by Melbourne-based designer, Jolet. My favourites were the "Tokyo Lights" printed sheer blouses and dresses. I'm really fond of Jolet's digital prints and love how she's evokes different moods and stories.

I enjoyed every moment, from meeting the team who made my media accreditation possible, AMPR, to being treated like a VIP, meeting up with my fashion blogger friends, designers and fashionistas. I simply did not want the night to end, but with everything in life, good things must come to an end. I cannot wait to do it all again!

Special thanks to the wonderful team at AMPR, in particular Kelly Tanti. I welcome the opportunity to work with you again in the near future to support this fabulous event that is the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival.

    1. Thanks Cecylia! I was actually wearing a sweater and skirt. Would have looked like an LBD in the dark though! Yes, I loved Violet. She's a real sweetie.

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!  For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette. Check out

Ballistic for Bally

I have always loved Bally , especially their shoes. They're made with the softest, luxurious leather I have ever worn. Bally were my first ever pair of high end designer shoes and they fit like a glove. So this post is going to be dedicated to one of the most prestigious design houses and their amazingly comfortable, chic shoes.  Here's some of my favourites from Bally's new S/S '12 collection: Which is your favourite? I love the classic black Otty-Crest pump and the teal and navy Palda wedge sandals. Have a great week! Mine will be an interesting one. I finish teaching for the term this coming Wednesday and go on a staff retreat to Creswick for the rest of the week. I'm looking forward to breathing in the crisp, clean country air! My top ten must-haves!

Fashion fads come & go, but real style stands the test of time. As mentioned earlier, I'm one for classics versus trends. I love buying clothing that lasts and is therefore timeless.  I have put myself up for the challenge of finding classic pieces using Audrey Hepburn as an example. Here's my list of the top ten must-haves!! 1. Man's style classic buttoned down white shirt 2. LBD-Little Black Dress 3. A-Line dress/skirt 4. Trench Coat (Burberry is the original) 5. Black turtleneck sweater (Preferably cashmere) 6. Leopard print (one piece at a time/NEVER more than one!!) 7. Silk Scarf (Preferably Hermes) 8. Ballet Flats 9. Pearls (Earrings/necklace) 10. Investment handbag (look to Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Prada for classic styles)   What's your favourite out of my top ten must-haves?  Enjoy your weekend and, whatever you do, make sure you do it in st
