Weekend Bliss

My first full week back at work seemed to go on for so L-O-N-G! I was singing Alleluia, very loudly mind you, when Friday finally arrived upon my doorstep!

Weekends for me are pure bliss! I just can't get enough of them. The only downside is that, before I know it, they're gone and the new week of work begins once more. As I ease myself into the working week, I start to look forward to the weekend all over again!

Today is my favourite day of the weekend. Saturdays seem to give me a zap of energy, which always make me feel like dressing up and taking myself off somewhere.

I chose my beautiful Miu Miu handbag, which is just perfect for running errands, always looks cute and is so versatile with its detachable strap. Along my travels, I stopped off at my beauty suppliers to buy some cute Essie nail polishes. Stay tuned for more details!

Here's my five top reasons for why weekends for me are pure bliss:

#1 No alarm clock (Yippee!!)
#2 Spending time with friends & family
#3 Dressing up/wearing high heels (deemed unsafe when on yard duty!)
#4 Time to relax and unwind
#5 Plenty of time to SHOP 'til you drop!!(My favourite weekend pastime, of course!)

What makes your weekend blissful?

  1. Purely blissful commentary on the joys of Saturday! My faves are lunging in jammies with my own fresh coffee, starting a new book, and meeting friends at an outdoor sidewalk cafe to enjoy the sun and people watch in LA! Th only negative is the fact it is my only day to run errands!

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!  For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette. Check out

Ballistic for Bally

I have always loved Bally , especially their shoes. They're made with the softest, luxurious leather I have ever worn. Bally were my first ever pair of high end designer shoes and they fit like a glove. So this post is going to be dedicated to one of the most prestigious design houses and their amazingly comfortable, chic shoes.  Here's some of my favourites from Bally's new S/S '12 collection: Which is your favourite? I love the classic black Otty-Crest pump and the teal and navy Palda wedge sandals. Have a great week! Mine will be an interesting one. I finish teaching for the term this coming Wednesday and go on a staff retreat to Creswick for the rest of the week. I'm looking forward to breathing in the crisp, clean country air! Olga De Polga

Melbourne based designer Olga de Polga  is renowned for their use of colour and vibrant patterns. I really enjoy adding a pop of colour when I style outfits, so if you love colour, you are bound to find something fabulous. On my recent visit, I picked up two pairs of Lillian pants, a new style to ODP, in both pink and caramel. These colours go so well with other pieces in my wardrobe. Style tip: I will not add anything to my wardrobe if it doesn't go with other pieces, so I am very particular when choosing a new piece to add to my collection. The cords fit really well, sitting at mid-waist and fall at the perfect length. The corduroy fabric is soft and feels so cosy, so perfect for Winter here in Melbourne!  Have you visited Olga de Polga? If so, what are your favourite pieces? If you haven't been in store yet, make sure you do so soon, because some styles are selling out really fast. Have a great rest of the week! Yours in style, Suzi x  What I'm Wearing ODP Lillian pants
