Back to Creme de la Mer

My skin has been looking really terrible lately. The Winter weather has left my skin parched and lifeless. I have been trying a few different products, to no avail. Just when I was about to give up, I remembered how good my skin looked when I was using Creme de la Mer. The only thing stopping me from using it was the hefty price tag. This stuff is not cheap. I decided to bite the bullet and bought myself a small jar. My skin has already been transformed. So far so good...

I remember when I first started using Creme de la Mer, I felt less concerned about the appearance of fine lines and dehydration. Sometimes, I would wake in the morning and, after cleansing, would not feel like I needed any moisturiser. That was a first for me, especially for someone with very dry skin,

I tell you this cream really works and after having tested many high end products over the years, I can firmly say that this cream comes up trumps. If you can afford it, buy it.

La Mer have different creams to suit your skin type, from normal-dry-oily. They now have a new cream known as the Moisturising soft cream for those who prefer a lighter texture than the Creme de la Mer.

It is my belief that sometimes one has to sacrifice other things for the sake of great looking skin, hence my lack of posts about any new clothing!! I feel that we only get one skin and therefore we should look after it. It's not like I'm getting any younger either. Although, this cream can help fix that problem!!

Here's a short video about the highly coveted Creme de la Mer and the miracle broth that has made this cream famous.

My week so far has started off to a great start. Today went by so fast, so let's hope the rest of the week continues to fly. I cannot wait to put my feet up and relax!!

Have a great week!

Yours in style,

    1. Hi Meg, be sure to stop off at a La Mer counter and ask for a sample suited to your skin type. I always like to try before I buy. Thanks for your comment.

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!  For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette. Check out ...

Olga De Polga

Melbourne based designer Olga de Polga  is renowned for their use of colour and vibrant patterns. I really enjoy adding a pop of colour when I style outfits, so if you love colour, you are bound to find something fabulous. On my recent visit, I picked up two pairs of Lillian pants, a new style to ODP, in both pink and caramel. These colours go so well with other pieces in my wardrobe. Style tip: I will not add anything to my wardrobe if it doesn't go with other pieces, so I am very particular when choosing a new piece to add to my collection. The cords fit really well, sitting at mid-waist and fall at the perfect length. The corduroy fabric is soft and feels so cosy, so perfect for Winter here in Melbourne!  Have you visited Olga de Polga? If so, what are your favourite pieces? If you haven't been in store yet, make sure you do so soon, because some styles are selling out really fast. Have a great rest of the week! CHANEL Fall/Winter Haute Couture 2023/24

The CHANEL Fall/Winter Haute Couture 2023/24 was streamed live on Instagram this evening. The show took place along the banks of the Seine, beneath the famous Eiffel Tower. Striking combinations of colours were seen, along with ruffles, bow details on dresses and pattern clashing.  The looks were heavy on embellishments with the Houses' flower, the Camellia, along with hydrangeas and daisies, in a multicoloured kaleidoscope of colours. Twisted rope-like belts adorned models' waistlines and signature gold buttons adorned blazers. Surprising colour combinations were seen, such as red, black and charcoal, as well as orange, pink and gold.  My favourite from the collection was indeed the last look, as it reminded me of a modern take on the bridal gown Audrey Hepburn wore in the movie, 'Funny Face'.  The gown was simple, with a bow detail at the collar, longer sleeves and a shorter, fuller skirt, worn with a short veil. A perfect final look to the beautiful CHANEL haute cou...
