Trends worth the mention

If I had to choose between trends or classics, I'd choose classics every time. But, I do think trends deserve a place in our closets. I think it's vital to keeping your look modern and fresh. The things to remember with trends though is that it's important to drop less cash, as they'll date very quickly. My style philosophy is to splurge on classics, but skimp on trends.

Trends worth mentioning are digital prints, clashing prints in tonal colours and pretty pastels. Anything else I say ditch, such as neon brights, sheer see-it-all garments and florals. If opting for glomesh, which seems to be en-trend at the moment, nothing beats vintage. I own an Oroton glomesh bag. It's in great condition and was passed down to me from my husband's grandmother. Would you believe I wore it out to a function at the start of the year before it became a trend.

So what do you say about these trends? Which is your favourite?

Today was the perfect winter's day. My husband and I had a spot of lunch in Carlton. We sat outside in the sunshine. It was pure bliss! What have you been up to this weekend?

Yours in style,

Suzi x

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!  For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette. Check out ...

Ballistic for Bally

I have always loved Bally , especially their shoes. They're made with the softest, luxurious leather I have ever worn. Bally were my first ever pair of high end designer shoes and they fit like a glove. So this post is going to be dedicated to one of the most prestigious design houses and their amazingly comfortable, chic shoes.  Here's some of my favourites from Bally's new S/S '12 collection: Which is your favourite? I love the classic black Otty-Crest pump and the teal and navy Palda wedge sandals. Have a great week! Mine will be an interesting one. I finish teaching for the term this coming Wednesday and go on a staff retreat to Creswick for the rest of the week. I'm looking forward to breathing in the crisp, clean country air! on my wish list

On my wish list at the moment is this Burberry Prorsum technical silk A-line skirt in black. I absolutely love A-line skirts and dresses! They are universally flattering on every body type. If you don't own an A-line skirt or dress, its an item of clothing that you can always rely on. It can take you from day to night and is guaranteed to make you look amazing with every wear! Unfortunately, Melbourne does not yet carry the Burberry Prorsum line. However, since the line is available in Sydney, that's a pretty good excuse to organise a shopping trip, don't you think? What's on your current wish list? Yours in style, Suzi x Thanks to Burberry for the images xx
