Elemis to the rescue!

So as you may be aware, it's still Winter here in good ol' Melbourne. However, I can feel Spring in the air and it is just around the corner, thank God!

My skin has not coped with the harsh winds, nor the changes in temperature, from indoors to outdoors and vice versa. It has been calling out for help and I have found the perfect solution to bring my skin back to its pre-Winter hydrated state-Elemis!

I've been using Elemis for about two years now. I do love it. It's at a more reasonable price point, as compared to La Mer, which is just too expensive for me to even consider at the moment. I have sensitive, reactive skin with small patches of redness/couperose, so I need to be really careful with what I use.

Really effective skincare is expensive, right? Well, I refuse to pay full price for skincare if I can help it. I turn to the online mecca of skincare, haircare and perfumery-strawberrynet.com

StrawberryNET is an online cosmetic store with a very wide selection of skincare lines, such as Elemis, Clarins and Chanel. It is so easy to order online and they offer FREE postage around the world!

Every time I receive my order in the mail, it comes wrapped up in a white box which is tied with a pretty lilac bow. Now that I am a loyalty customer, I receive an extra 10% off their already heavily reduced prices.

I hopped online today and found the product in question which I'm hoping will be my saving grace. Daily Redness Relief 50ml by Elemis. This product claims to be a..."soothing, anti-redness treatment moisturiser that helps to reduce the daily appearance of redness and high colour. It contains "powerful Anti-Redness Complex to help reduce the flushed appearance of broken capillaries. A Phytoamine Biocomplex of Centella Asiatica, Meadowsweet and Amino Acids help to soothe the skin." 1

I shall keep you posted about my skin and the changes I see over time, in case any of you are in fact interested to try this out for yourself. I find reviews extremely helpful in making  choices, whether it be if I'm looking for a new mascara to use or skincare.

Keep in touch, I'd love to hear from you. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have about this range or any other skincare questions and concerns. I am a qualified beauty therapist, for those of you who didn't know! I'm full of little surprises!!

I've lost my voice at the moment and am terribly frustrated because I love talking! Let's hope I find it soon!!! Hope you are well and enjoying your weekend so far.

Yours in style,

Suzi x

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!  For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette. Check out ...

Olga De Polga

Melbourne based designer Olga de Polga  is renowned for their use of colour and vibrant patterns. I really enjoy adding a pop of colour when I style outfits, so if you love colour, you are bound to find something fabulous. On my recent visit, I picked up two pairs of Lillian pants, a new style to ODP, in both pink and caramel. These colours go so well with other pieces in my wardrobe. Style tip: I will not add anything to my wardrobe if it doesn't go with other pieces, so I am very particular when choosing a new piece to add to my collection. The cords fit really well, sitting at mid-waist and fall at the perfect length. The corduroy fabric is soft and feels so cosy, so perfect for Winter here in Melbourne!  Have you visited Olga de Polga? If so, what are your favourite pieces? If you haven't been in store yet, make sure you do so soon, because some styles are selling out really fast. Have a great rest of the week! Grace Kelly: Style Icon

Some of you may know already that I recently went on a country  girls' getaway with my mother to Bendigo to view the Grace Kelly: A Style Icon exhibition. I am so thrilled that I did! It was simply amazing.  The package I purchased was the Country Girls' Getaway, which included one nights accomadation at the City Centre Motel (4 star), breakfast, in-house Grace Kelly Movies, plus 2 x tickets to the exhibition. The special pack I received upon check-in, which included a terrific shopping and dining guide, special discounts and maps. The exhibition was held at the Bendigo Art Gallery. The session was timed by the hour to prevent the influx of visitors, which I felt worked really well. There was plenty of room and I didn't feel like I needed to hurry up, so instead, took my time, taking in every detail. I could have spent all day looking at every single minute detail of each and every one of the stunning gowns that adorned this beau...
