It's blazing cold!

A must-have in any fashionistas closet would have to be the blazer. I have two favourites-a linen/cotton blazer for Spring/Summer, by Max & Co, and this new edition in silk blend by Carolina Herrera, New York, from Paris '99.

My favourite way to wear blazers is with jeans, although they can also be worn with longer length skirts as well. Due to the cold weather Melbourne has been experiencing lately, layering is the only option. I chose to layer a cashmere/woollen sweater by Ralph Lauren. It's short sleeved, but very warm. In fact, paired with this blazer, it's the perfect combination for a Winter's day. The blazer may not be made from wool, but it sure is cosy! I was quite surprised.

I love the look of navy on navy, broken up with black. There's something very French chic about this colour combo. I think I need to wear more of it!

I chose to accessorise this outfit with my beautiful Louis Vuitton Alma handbag in monogram design. I had it monogrammed in gold with my initals, which I absolutely adore! The Alma is such a classic and was made especially for Coco Chanel as she needed a small travel handbag, hence the brass lock and key you can see in the photographs below. If you only ever buy one Louis Vuitton handbag, I urge you to consider this one only. The Speedy fails to live up to the elegance and beauty of the Alma in comparison, but seems to have been taken the world by storm, as it is a cheaper alternative.

I'm very careful when spending a lot of money on shoes. I always stick to classic styles and colours. That way, I don't waste my money on trends that fade as quickly as they come in and these shoes are no exception. These Bally black pumps are my go-to heels for style, as well as comfort. I highly recommend them. This style is available every season. I would love another pair in patent leather.

It's been so lovely seeing some sunshine today! I've been able to stock up on some much needed vitamin D. Hope you're all loving your weekend so far.

Yours in style,
Suzi x

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!  For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette. Check out ...

Olga De Polga

Melbourne based designer Olga de Polga  is renowned for their use of colour and vibrant patterns. I really enjoy adding a pop of colour when I style outfits, so if you love colour, you are bound to find something fabulous. On my recent visit, I picked up two pairs of Lillian pants, a new style to ODP, in both pink and caramel. These colours go so well with other pieces in my wardrobe. Style tip: I will not add anything to my wardrobe if it doesn't go with other pieces, so I am very particular when choosing a new piece to add to my collection. The cords fit really well, sitting at mid-waist and fall at the perfect length. The corduroy fabric is soft and feels so cosy, so perfect for Winter here in Melbourne!  Have you visited Olga de Polga? If so, what are your favourite pieces? If you haven't been in store yet, make sure you do so soon, because some styles are selling out really fast. Have a great rest of the week! CHANEL Fall/Winter Haute Couture 2023/24

The CHANEL Fall/Winter Haute Couture 2023/24 was streamed live on Instagram this evening. The show took place along the banks of the Seine, beneath the famous Eiffel Tower. Striking combinations of colours were seen, along with ruffles, bow details on dresses and pattern clashing.  The looks were heavy on embellishments with the Houses' flower, the Camellia, along with hydrangeas and daisies, in a multicoloured kaleidoscope of colours. Twisted rope-like belts adorned models' waistlines and signature gold buttons adorned blazers. Surprising colour combinations were seen, such as red, black and charcoal, as well as orange, pink and gold.  My favourite from the collection was indeed the last look, as it reminded me of a modern take on the bridal gown Audrey Hepburn wore in the movie, 'Funny Face'.  The gown was simple, with a bow detail at the collar, longer sleeves and a shorter, fuller skirt, worn with a short veil. A perfect final look to the beautiful CHANEL haute cou...
