F L A N N E L

F L A N N E L, the Australian designer label of Perth-born designer Kristy Lawrence, was created back in 2006. Kristy's first piece was a feminine silk slip, which, 13 years on, remains the backbone of each new collection.

Currently Kristy has a grand total of 17 stores spread across Australia and the USA, the latest being Rundle Street, Adelaide. The clothing is feminine, easy to wear and luxurious, using only the finest of silks, wool and cottons. I love the fact that Kristy has taken the guess work out of styling as colour ways and styles have been chosen carefully so they coordinate seamlessly with other garments from each collection.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Albert Park boutique yesterday. Sadly, I didn't take any photographs, probably because I was so in awe of everything and so excited to find a piece to add to my closet. I was really well attended to by Rachel, who had an amazing eye for design and an amazingly effortless, chic style.

I ended up selecting a really pretty sleeveless black cotton top with broderie anglaise detail to add to my clothing collection. It will go with so many things in my closet, so I'm thrilled! I am even thinking of wearing it layered over my fine cashmere fitted sweaters. I try to get the most of each item of clothing I purchase by wearing it all year round as much as possible. That way, the cost per wear is worth the initial cost of the garment.

F L A N N E L is fast becoming my new favourite label. I have been looking for garments that fit in with my new lifestyle now that I work on a casual basis. I have realised I required more garments that can be worn both as relaxed casual day wear or dressed up for an evening out on the town.
F L A N N E L garments are perfect for this!

I am really looking forward to the launch of F L A N N E L's Spring/Summer Collections. I look forward to my chance to view the new collection in person as it lands in stores in the next couple of months.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

French nautical

Ilove stripes, especially navy & white. It's very Parisian chic! My favourite Breton striped cashmere/silk blend sweater has been the absolute best investment of all time.

There are trends that come and go and then there are classics. I tend to steer towards the classics. The striped boatneck sweater is yet another timeless piece which should live in everyone's closet.

I stumbled across some old pics of movie starlets wearing nautical stripes, such as my favourite style icon, Audrey Hepburn. Years have passed and the striped sweater still looks as fabulous as it did back in its heyday.

This sweater I'm wearing is by Australian label Bezoar. They seem to have fallen off the radar at present, so I hope that in the future I can purchase another one like this!

This is my go-to outfit for comfort and style when I need to run some errands. What's yours?
Hoping that your weekend was fabulous and your week is even better!

Top 5: Miu Miu Edit S/S '19

Another live stream runway show I had the pleasure of viewing was the Miu Miu Spring/Summer '19 show live from Paris Fashion Week. A highlight included looks from the red carpet as worn by famous models, actresses and digital influences, such as Australia's very own Margaret Zhang. Another highlight included seeing the image projection of models onto the new Miu Miu logo. Although, seemingly "out there", it was a very interesting and exciting way to begin the show.

I loved the bow details as seen on blouses, headbands, eyewear and shoes. Tailored blazers and coats from an array of luxe fabrics were seen in the majority of looks from the collection.

The new Spring/Summer '19 Miu Miu collecion captures the very essence of the brand: feminine, chic and girly. Lots of sparkles, glitter and crystals featured in the new collection, an element that has become Miu Miu's signature. I couldn't help but capture tiny hints reminiscent of the 1920s "Flapper Girl&…

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango!
The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!

For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette.
