F L A N N E L

F L A N N E L, the Australian designer label of Perth-born designer Kristy Lawrence, was created back in 2006. Kristy's first piece was a feminine silk slip, which, 13 years on, remains the backbone of each new collection.

Currently Kristy has a grand total of 17 stores spread across Australia and the USA, the latest being Rundle Street, Adelaide. The clothing is feminine, easy to wear and luxurious, using only the finest of silks, wool and cottons. I love the fact that Kristy has taken the guess work out of styling as colour ways and styles have been chosen carefully so they coordinate seamlessly with other garments from each collection.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Albert Park boutique yesterday. Sadly, I didn't take any photographs, probably because I was so in awe of everything and so excited to find a piece to add to my closet. I was really well attended to by Rachel, who had an amazing eye for design and an amazingly effortless, chic style.

I ended up selecting a really pretty sleeveless black cotton top with broderie anglaise detail to add to my clothing collection. It will go with so many things in my closet, so I'm thrilled! I am even thinking of wearing it layered over my fine cashmere fitted sweaters. I try to get the most of each item of clothing I purchase by wearing it all year round as much as possible. That way, the cost per wear is worth the initial cost of the garment.

F L A N N E L is fast becoming my new favourite label. I have been looking for garments that fit in with my new lifestyle now that I work on a casual basis. I have realised I required more garments that can be worn both as relaxed casual day wear or dressed up for an evening out on the town.
F L A N N E L garments are perfect for this!

I am really looking forward to the launch of F L A N N E L's Spring/Summer Collections. I look forward to my chance to view the new collection in person as it lands in stores in the next couple of months.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Yours in style,

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!  For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette. Check out

I love miu mui

My absolute favourite international designer has to be mui mui . I find myself falling in love again and again, with each new season collection. Muiccia Prada's label is fun, feminine and fabulous!  We're really lucky to have a mui mui store in Melbourne actually. For anyone who has ever been to Chadstone Shopping Centre, you would know it is the fashion Mecca for anyone looking for high-end designer clothing and accessories. Every single time I go to Chadstone, without fail, I pay a special visit to mui mui. I know mui mui garments, shoes, and accessories are on the more expensive side, but a girl can dream right? There's just something extremely appealing to me that keeps me coming back season after season. Now to save up for a piece to call my own some day...            Do you have a high-end international designer who you really enjoy? Who is it and what makes them so appealing to you? Enjoy t

Ballistic for Bally

I have always loved Bally , especially their shoes. They're made with the softest, luxurious leather I have ever worn. Bally were my first ever pair of high end designer shoes and they fit like a glove. So this post is going to be dedicated to one of the most prestigious design houses and their amazingly comfortable, chic shoes.  Here's some of my favourites from Bally's new S/S '12 collection: Which is your favourite? I love the classic black Otty-Crest pump and the teal and navy Palda wedge sandals. Have a great week! Mine will be an interesting one. I finish teaching for the term this coming Wednesday and go on a staff retreat to Creswick for the rest of the week. I'm looking forward to breathing in the crisp, clean country air!
