searching for a classic

For my birthday, back in May, I purchased a gorgeous Burberry Prorsum cashmere sweater in grey melange. This is the best purchase I have ever made, with its superb quality and craftsmanship and luxurious feel. I just adore it.

I have been trying to find another cashmere sweater of equal quality, to pair with my Burberry London navy skirt, in a more fitted style. The only problem is that it is proving to be a little more difficult than I had anticipated. Boxy, relaxed and printed styles of cashmere sweaters seem to be everywhere.

After searching and searching, Burberry once again, have proven that they are the market leaders when it comes to offering high-quality cashmere garments in classic styles. I think I may have found what I have been looking for.

Burberry London has a slim-fit cashmere sweater in an array of colours, which I am thinking of purchasing. So it looks as though I may need to stick with purchasing my classic cashmere sweaters from Burberry from now on.

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt! Olga De Polga

Melbourne based designer Olga de Polga is renowned for their use of colour and vibrant patterns. I really enjoy adding a pop of colour when I style outfits, so if you love colour, you are bound to find something fabulous. On my recent visit, I picked up two pairs of Lillian pants, a new style to ODP, in both pink and caramel. These colours go so well with other pieces in my wardrobe. Style tip: I will not add anything to my wardrobe if it doesn't go with other pieces, so I am very particular when choosing a new piece to add to my collection. The cords fit really well, sitting at mid-waist and fall at the perfect length. The corduroy fabric is soft and feels so cosy, so perfect for Winter here in Melbourne! Have you visited Olga de Polga? Grace Kelly: Style Icon

Some of you may know already that I recently went on a country girls' getaway with my mother to Bendigo to view the Grace Kelly: A Style Icon exhibition. I am so thrilled that I did! It was simply amazing. The package I purchased was the Country Girls' Getaway, which included one nights accomadation at the City Centre Motel (4 star), breakfast, in-house Grace Kelly Movies, plus 2 x tickets to the exhibition. The special pack I received upon check-in, which included a terrific shopping and dining guide, special discounts and maps. The exhibition was held at the Bendigo Art Gallery. The session was timed by the hour to prevent the influx of visitors, which I felt worked really well. There was plenty of room and I didn't feel like I needed to hurry up, so instead, took my time, taking in every detail.
