ladylike in lace

On the front cover of September's Australian Vogue is Australian actress, Bella Heathcote, wearing a beautiful raspberry lace chiffon dress. I remember wearing lace in the late 80's, early 90's and I loved it! There's something really lovely and ladylike about it.  Here are some style inspirations by none other than the graceful Audrey Hepburn. In my opinion, she is the epitome of feminity and ladylikeness. The feminine white lace dress was actually worn by Audrey for the 1954 Academy Awards.    Worn by Audrey during the filming of the 1966 classic, How to Steal a Million, the black chantilly dress below is exquisite . Is it any wonder lace is in the spotlight yet again! I can't believe how fast the week has gone and how Spring is almost upon us! Yippee!! Hope you enjoy your Friday tomorrow! Have a restful and wonderful weekend. Yours in style, Suzi x I love hearing from you all so feel free to comment below or ask me any style...

Bassike coming to Hawksburn!

I first learned of Bassike when I went into FAT @ Chadstone for a spot of T-shirt shopping. There I found a whole entire row of T's, but sadly I wanted white, so since there wasn't any white, I didn't purchase any. Now I'm kicking myself!! Well, these fabulous T's + more are coming to the brand new Bassike boutique located in the leafy suburb of Hawksburn. Opening September 1st at 617 Malvern Road, I'm hoping I'm well enough by then to pop in to check it out! I cannot wait! Bassike started back in 2006 by design team Deborah Sams and Mary-Loy Ryan. The Bassike philosophy 'is all about creating wardrobe staples with longevity; combining timeless style with premium quality and sustainable fabrics.' 1 I'm certain that these two designer friends are feeling very proud of their achievements over the years, and perhaps their biggest one yet may be adding another boutique to the three currently existing.  In the meantime, here's a peep...

Elemis to the rescue!

So as you may be aware, it's still Winter here in good ol' Melbourne. However, I can feel Spring in the air and it is just around the corner, thank God!  My skin has not coped with the harsh winds, nor the changes in temperature, from indoors to outdoors and vice versa. It has been calling out for help and I have found the perfect solution to bring my skin back to its pre-Winter hydrated state- Elemis! I've been using Elemis for about two years now. I do love it. It's at a more reasonable price point, as compared to La Mer, which is just too expensive for me to even consider at the moment. I have sensitive, reactive skin with small patches of redness/couperose, so I need to be really careful with what I use.  Really effective skincare is expensive, right? Well, I refuse to pay full price for skincare if I can help it. I turn to the online mecca of skincare, haircare and perfumery- strawberrynet.com StrawberryNET is an online cosmetic store with a very w...

new hair c/o rokk ebony

Apologies for my lack of posts of late. Last week, I came down with a chronic sinus infection, leaving me bed ridden for almost a week. So, now I'm back with a vengeance and I'm scoring a new look, thanks to the fabulous hairdressers at Rokk Ebony salon.  I'm really enjoying my new hair. It's much lighter now, which I love. The caramel highlights have lifted my skin tone and added more warmth to my face. I love my new cut too. Seriously, 3 inches off makes a huge difference to the health of your hair. I don't know if I could ever have it really long again, but we'll wait and see.  Today has been such a wonderful day. My husband and I spent the day in beautiful Queenscliff, one of the first places to be put on the map in Victoria, all those years ago. We stocked up on our favourite Homebody homemade soaps and enjoyed a very relaxing lunch together.  I haven't made any recent fashion purchases recently, but ...

Loving Ellery

Australian designer, Ellery, has some very chic, fashion-forward pieces from their Spring 2012 collection. Pastel, metallics, navy & black. Here's my edit. What's your favourite look? What a week it's been so far! Our beloved pooch, Scruffy, had his cruciate ligament operation today, so I've been preoccupied with that. I hope his recovery is quick. It's awful seeing your beloved pets sick. Have a great week! Yours in style, Suzi x  images from elleryland.com
