Fashion as Art

An amazing online purchase arrived in the mail a little while back; a sleeveless, silk digital printed shirt by Jolet. Jolet is the eponymous label of Jolet Ucchino, a Melbourne based designer, who has received accolades for her outstanding designs and digital prints.  

This digital print, entitled Lucid Dream, encapsulates the very essence of Summer; warm, balmy nights, silhouettes walking along the beach, the sunset reflecting on the waters below.  




Every collection created by Jolet is based on the emotive side of art. Moods captured within each piece, allow you to interpret the artistic meaning that lies therein.




Besides the very fact this garment is made from the highest quality silk and the most technologically advanced digital printing techniques, what I love most about this garment, is its versatility. The range of styling options are endless. I get rather excited when I find a garment that works with many things already in my existing wardrobe!

I'm really looking forward to seeing Jolet's new Autumn/Winter 12 collection! If the previous collection is anything to go by, I'm certain this next one will be just as amazing!

    This top is stunning! Nothing better then the feel of goo quality silk against your skin. So light and comfy to wear. Does she actually have a store in Melbourne ? Im visiting soon and would love to check it out.

    I'm absolutely in love with that blouse! I actually bought one just like it awhile ago and had to return it because...well I have a shopping addiction and I'd overspent haha. But I always regretted it! So pretty!

      Aww..that's terrible about your blouse. Shopping can be quite addictive though & sometimes we can get lost in the moment. You never know, you may see something like it again down the track. I do enjoy browsing, but it's hard when you find something you absolutley adore and it's way beyond your price range!!

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. I love miu mui

My absolute favourite international designer has to be mui mui . I find myself falling in love again and again, with each new season collection. Muiccia Prada's label is fun, feminine and fabulous!  We're really lucky to have a mui mui store in Melbourne actually. For anyone who has ever been to Chadstone Shopping Centre, you would know it is the fashion Mecca for anyone looking for high-end designer clothing and accessories. Every single time I go to Chadstone, without fail, I pay a special visit to mui mui. I know mui mui garments, shoes, and accessories are on the more expensive side, but a girl can dream right? There's just something extremely appealing to me that keeps me coming back season after season. sandy liang fall/winter '22

It's been some time between posts as I have been waiting for something to inspire me. So when one of my favourite designers, Sandy Liang, released the look book from her new Fall/Winter '22 collection, I was so excited, that I decided to edit these looks into ten of my favourites. Sandy Liang stays true to her aesthetic each season. Like previous collections, there are hints of Marie Antoinette and Ballet. The way Sandy Liang fuses the two together is amazing. I am drawn to anything to do with ballet, so, of course, I love this collection! My favourite pieces are the cotton dresses with bow detailing, the trench coat dress, camel corduroy skirt pants and layered knitwear. So wearable, but whimsical in a very grown-up kind of way.
