Filippa K

I first discovered Filippa K years ago at a boutique called Manon Cie in Armadale, which has since closed down. I purchased a white basic round neck T-shirt, which I still have and wear when walking the dog. For years, I have searched high and low for another one, since it is so comfy and has lasted some time now and still looks good.  After years of searching, I finally found my white Filippa K T-shirt at one of my favourite boutiques in the city, called Swensk . Swensk is a boutique which is committed to slow fashion. Their approach is simple. "Swensk have two approaches to Slow Fashion: 1) Provide designs that last longer then the trends. 2) Quality fabrics and manufacturing." 1   I e njoy wearing garments which are made from the best quality fabrics. They look chic, are comfy and stand the test of time. Cheaper fabrics just don't last, so you have to repurchase more frequently. I think buying quality garments helps to be more sustainable and that's a pos...

Love Affair

I'm not much of a fan of cold Winters, but what makes it bearable for me is something I discovered about eight years ago. I admit I have had an ongoing love-affair with cashmere for years. This soft, luxurious wool is the ultimate in keeping warm. It's actually ten times warmer than wool and not itchy at all!  My cashmere collection just keeps on growing, and my latest addition is this gorgeous sweater dress. In my opinion, black always looks chic and the slouchy over-sized shape of this sweater dress makes it the perfect outfit for casual days. It also features a round neckline, drop fitted sleeves and ribbing. I love wearing it with my black leather high-heeled boots.  Well, I can't believe another week has begun already. I have been walking with an extra spring in my step as the weather here is on the improve. The scent of flowers, such as jasmine and freesias, fills the air and I know that Spring is almost upon us. I look forward to days fi...

Sisley, my saving grace

Well, it's been a while since my last blog post. Life has been so crazy busy for me with teaching full days, then coming home absolutely exhausted. I wonder whether or not it is this long, cold, drab Winter that's making me feel like this. I usually feel like I have so much more energy in the warmer months. Please tell me that I'm not the only one going through the Winter blues? When I found out Sisley Cosmetics Paris do a hydrating mask, I just had to try it. I have leaned more towards skincare over the past couple of months as my skin has not been handling the harsh climate too well. If your skin feels dehydrated and needs a pick-me-up, check out Sisley's Express Flower Gel Mask. Sisley's products are made from pure botanicals and essential oils. The beauty of this mask (no pun intended), is that you can leave it on without rinsing it off and even wear it during the day under your makeup. No kidding, it makes your skin really hydrated and fabulous for ...

my winter skin savers

Over the past month or so, I have had to crank my skincare up a notch and have been following a very strict regime. Why, you ask? Because Winter plays havoc with skin. Heating, cold winds and not enough sunlight, makes anyone's skin look pale, dehydrated and lack-lustre. So in this blog post, I am going to share with you my secret to getting healthy looking, radiant skin, which is perfectly hydrated throughout the harsh Winter months. First and foremost, I use the best skincare that I can possibly afford, which happens to be La Mer . If you choose the right products, and, believe me, I have tried pretty much every brand-low and high-end, your skin will thank you for it. I choose to invest in my skin, because, after all, you only get one skin and, given that it is the largest organ of the body, I can justify the expense.  Consistently following the four steps to great skin-every morning and evening (cleanse, tone, apply serum & moisturise) leaves my skin in tip-top condit...

These boots were made for walking

Over the Queen's Birthday long weekend, my husband and I were lucky enough to stay at a luxurious five star hotel in the city. It was so relaxing. We had such an amazing time! During our stay, we spent some time browsing the many beautiful boutiques and department stores. I picked up these amazing Fendi knee-high leather boots. I love everything about them, from the beautiful leather to the wooden stacked heel and the Fendi embossed gold zipper details. These boots were made for walking. I'm really looking forward to the holidays! Work has been so busy. Only one more week to go! I simply cannot wait. Hope you're having a fabulous weekend! Shiny! Shiny!

Do you want shiny hair? Buy yourself a heat protector. It has made such a difference to my hair. I purchased one from my hairdresser during my last visit. The L'Oreal Kerastase Nectar Thermique is a leave in balm, which when applied, goes on smoothly without weighing down my fine hair. After all of the heat styling with my hairdryer and then my GHD hair straighteners, my hair is left feeling fabulously shiny. Shiny! Shiny! I can't believe another weekend has come and gone and that I have to go to work tomorrow. The weekend was quite a relaxing one, although I did have to finish off my reports for part of it.  I'm looking forward to the long weekend coming. Hubby and I are off to stay in the city in a five star hotel. We are in need of some well-deserved R&R. I'm really looking forward to that! How was your weekend? Did you get up to much? Enjoy your week, Yours in style, Suzi x Sweater: 3 Dots

My hair makeover

So today I spent several hours at my new hairdressers , Lady Marmalade in Beaumaris. Mally did such an amazing job and I am so happy with the result.  I asked for a fuller fringe since for quite some time, it hasn't been sitting right. Now it's thicker and choppier and I can style it in different ways. Oh and I changed the colour back to dark. I feel more like myself now !! If you're needing a style makeover, consider a visit to your hairdresser. The hair is the first step to making you feel and look great!  This weekend has been fairly quiet so far. I've enjoyed being pampered at the hairdressers and I almost fell asleep in their reclining lounge at the basin! So relaxing ! Well, one more sleep and our mums are back from China. I can't wait! Have a great rest of the weekend.  Yours in style, Suzi x
