Pretty in Pink

During our stay at the Novotel Forest Resort in Creswick on the weekend, we discovered some really lovely gardens surrounding the property, where we were able to relax and take some pictures. There was one particular spot that had some really beautiful native plants, one in particular was this "pretty in pink" plant. If you know the name of this species, please let me know!

It was nice to get the chance to have a little wander before we left to make our way back to Melbourne. The resort was set on quite a large property with a steep hill at its entrance. The steep climb was really great exercise to work off the wonderful wedding feast I had consumed!

Pink seems to be ever-so-popular at present in the fashion editorials. It's feminine and pretty!
No other colour can give the same amount of girly charm!

What's your colour of the moment and why is it your favourite?

I am wearing: Max & Co Liberty print pink blouse, Habitual New York Jane Isolate high-waisted jeans and Beautifeel black/patent leather sandals.

  1. Hi Suzi Love you story and photos of the garden. The name of that plant is "Rock Rose" I dont know the botanical name. You look gorgeous as always and you are wearing one of my favourite tops that you own.....and its pink.

  2. Thanks for that! I have heard of Rock Rose before. Such an ordinary name for such a pretty flowering shrub!
This blouse is my favourite because it's pink & because it's such a feminine cut & design.

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!  For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette. Check out

Ballistic for Bally

I have always loved Bally , especially their shoes. They're made with the softest, luxurious leather I have ever worn. Bally were my first ever pair of high end designer shoes and they fit like a glove. So this post is going to be dedicated to one of the most prestigious design houses and their amazingly comfortable, chic shoes.  Here's some of my favourites from Bally's new S/S '12 collection: Which is your favourite? I love the classic black Otty-Crest pump and the teal and navy Palda wedge sandals. Have a great week! Mine will be an interesting one. I finish teaching for the term this coming Wednesday and go on a staff retreat to Creswick for the rest of the week. I'm looking forward to breathing in the crisp, clean country air!
