French Chic with Repetto

Ooh la la! I love everything Parisian, especially when it comes to style! My favourite shoe label ever is Repetto. Repetto are the original makers of ballet shoes and were responsible for making the ballet flat as famous as it is today.

Bridgette Bardot asked Rose Repetto to create a pair of comfortable flat shoes for her to wear during the filming of the 1956 classic, And God Created Woman. It was this red patent leather ballet shoe that started it all off. A year later, Audrey Hepburn wore a pair of black Ferragamo ballet flats during the filming of Funny Face.

Since then, Repetto shoes have continued to have a famous following, including movie stars, such as Jane Birkin, and fashionistas, such as Kate Moss.

I own two pairs of Repetto shoes. My first purchase was a pair of the original BB ballet flats in a suede, metallic leather. I received my second pair as a gift from my husband. They are the Lola Mary Jane platform shoes, made from soft suede. Repetto shoes are so chic and the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.

I'm looking forward to purchasing my next pair of Repettos. I'm not sure what I will choose, but I know, that whatever I decide, I won't go wrong with a pair of Repettos. Très chic!

  6. Christie, Thanks for your comment! Compared to Europe, Repetto shoes are not as well known here in Australia.

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!  For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette. Check out

Olga De Polga

Melbourne based designer Olga de Polga  is renowned for their use of colour and vibrant patterns. I really enjoy adding a pop of colour when I style outfits, so if you love colour, you are bound to find something fabulous. On my recent visit, I picked up two pairs of Lillian pants, a new style to ODP, in both pink and caramel. These colours go so well with other pieces in my wardrobe. Style tip: I will not add anything to my wardrobe if it doesn't go with other pieces, so I am very particular when choosing a new piece to add to my collection. The cords fit really well, sitting at mid-waist and fall at the perfect length. The corduroy fabric is soft and feels so cosy, so perfect for Winter here in Melbourne!  Have you visited Olga de Polga? If so, what are your favourite pieces? If you haven't been in store yet, make sure you do so soon, because some styles are selling out really fast. Have a great rest of the week! Yours in style, Suzi x  What I'm Wearing ODP Lillian pants

Grace Kelly: Style Icon

Some of you may know already that I recently went on a country  girls' getaway with my mother to Bendigo to view the Grace Kelly: A Style Icon exhibition. I am so thrilled that I did! It was simply amazing.  The package I purchased was the Country Girls' Getaway, which included one nights accomadation at the City Centre Motel (4 star), breakfast, in-house Grace Kelly Movies, plus 2 x tickets to the exhibition. The special pack I received upon check-in, which included a terrific shopping and dining guide, special discounts and maps. The exhibition was held at the Bendigo Art Gallery. The session was timed by the hour to prevent the influx of visitors, which I felt worked really well. There was plenty of room and I didn't feel like I needed to hurry up, so instead, took my time, taking in every detail. I could have spent all day looking at every single minute detail of each and every one of the stunning gowns that adorned this beau
