Top 5: Miu Miu Edit S/S '19

Another live stream runway show I had the pleasure of viewing was the Miu Miu Spring/Summer '19 show live from Paris Fashion Week. A highlight included looks from the red carpet as worn by famous models, actresses and digital influences, such as Australia's very own Margaret Zhang. Another highlight included seeing the image projection of models onto the new Miu Miu logo. Although, seemingly "out there", it was a very interesting and exciting way to begin the show.  I loved the bow details as seen on blouses, headbands, eyewear and shoes. Tailored blazers and coats from an array of luxe fabrics were seen in the majority of looks from the collection.  The new Spring/Summer '19 Miu Miu collecion captures the very essence of the brand: feminine, chic and girly. Lots of sparkles, glitter and crystals featured in the new collection, an element that has become Miu Miu's signature. I couldn't help but capture ti

Giambattista Valli edit S/S '19

For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you will probably know how much I love Italian born, Paris based designer, Giambattista Valli. So you can imagine just how excited I was to find out that the Paris Spring Summer '19 show was going to be streamed live!  All I had to do in order to make sure I didn't miss out, was to check the time in Paris and work out the time difference. It turns out, Paris is actually 8 hours behind Australia! Then I simply set my alarm on my iphone to the correct time. Eight hours later, there I was, in the comfort of my own home, enjoying the runway of my favourite designer!  Here's my edit of my favourite pieces from the collection. I loved the floaty white dresses, but I'm definitely not a huge fan of the leopard print/safari inspired looks from the collection.  Did you watch any of the runways live stream or were you lucky enough to be there in person? I'd love to know. Please leave a comment belo

Caring for your Woollen Sweaters

It always irks me whenever a sales consultant tells me that you cannot  hand wash woollens and to follow the directions on the label. For years, I have been hand washing my knitwear and ignored the care label reading 'Dry clean'. The majority of my sweaters are made by high end designers, such as Ralph Lauren Collection and Burberry, and because they have been taken care of, still look brand new.  Here's what I do to keep my sweaters looking fabulous. If the sweater is 100% cashmere you need to fill a small tub of lukewarm water using a small amount of Wool Mix. I ALWAYS use Martha Gardner, Eucalyptus. I wash the sweater by gently moving the garment through the water and gently squeezing the sweater, but never pulling or tugging. Then I leave the sweater in the water to soak for about five minutes (not always needed-do skip this step if the garment is not heavily soiled). Afterwards, I rinse the sweater in lukewarm water until the water comes out clear. Do not lift the sw

Burberry Classic Style

It seems Burberry is not all about the raging 80s and 90s. I am so relieved to say there are some classics beginning to filter in. Thank God!  Seriously, I am really not that thrilled about fluorescent trims, nor am I that excited when it comes to graffiti prints; two trends that Burberry have taken on with a vengeance. The reason I am so against these so called 'trends' is because I've already seen, lived and worn those trends back in the 80s and 90s. If I'm totally honest, I am pretty happy to see the back end of them.  Classics-give me them any day, any year, any season. Classics never go out of fashion. One of my favourite new season pieces by Burberry has got to be the short-sleeve wool/silk shirt dress in off white. Very reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly. Vintage inspired, this dress would flatter any figure.  What do you think about designers going back to the 80s and 90s? Would you prefer to see more classic pieces in your favourite

Moncler S/S 2018 My Edit

I am absolutely loving the new Spring Summer '18 collection by Italian fashion designer label, Moncler . The preppy French chic style really appeals to my more casual side. Think fabulous clothes you can wear on a day off or on a weekend.   I love the way Moncler have put together their looks for the new season to give a very relaxed, chic, effortless feel.  Clever integration of the trademark Moncler puffer jackets, sees the Italian fashion house stay true to the very essence of the brand.  Colourways of red, khaki, and beige keep the collection preppy. The use of stripes evokes a very French-chic feel and prints keep things young and flirty. Black, cream and navy is used to keep the collection classic and sophisticated. I love every look in the Spring Summer '18 collection. I think I would be hard-pressed to choose my favourite, since I pretty much adore everything!  Do you have a favourite look from t

Update on Ralph Lauren in Australia

Most of you guys know how very fond I am of Ralph Lauren clothing, particularly the runway womenswear Collection label. I have published multiple posts showcasing this iconic American brand. The impeccable quality, fit and style of the Collection label is second to none-the creme de la creme, shall we say. I think the Ralph Lauren Purple Label for women, now named Collection , has the best slim fit cashmere sweaters on the luxury designer market today. I own several pieces. But now that's about to change.  Why, you ask? Because Ralph Lauren Melbourne, Australia, is no longer going to carry the luxury Collection label. That's right folks. You heard it right.  On a recent birthday stay in Melbourne earlier on in May, I visited the Ralph Lauren's Flagship Store on the Paris end of Collins Street. I had saved up my hard earned money to purchase another slim fit 100% cashmere sweater in Lux Tan. I looked around in the store eager with anticipation, hoping to find the swea

Little Black Skirt (LBS)

One of my favourite labels is Max & Co , the trendier, youthful label of MaxMara, an Italian brand which has been in operation since the early 1950s. During a recent visit to Max & Co, I was on the lookout for a skirt I could wear for both casual and formal occasions. While perusing their gorgeous garments from Max & Co's Spring/Summer 2018 collection, I came across a Little Black Skirt (LBS) in ribbed faille. The fit was so flattering on my petite frame and I absolutely loved the pockets, so I just had to purchase it right then and there!  I am hoping to wear my new LBS on Valentine's Day. My husband and I are going out for lunch to a fancy Italian restaurant. I think I will pair it with a silk navy blouse and black patent pumps.  Have you had any really great fashion purchases recently? What are you doing for Valentine's Day? I'd love to hear from you, so please add your response in the section below.  Yours in style,
