Oh, how I missed you!

I cannot tell you how much I have missed you. I haven't been able to blog since I fell ill last Sunday. Due to the fact I had contracted a rare form of food poisoning, I was hospitalised from Sunday through to Wednesday afternoon. Although I can confirm it was the worst time in my entire existence, now I can say I feel more human again and, so, I am back, doing what I love...blogging to you!

Today was the first day I started to feel like there was a light at the end of a very long tunnel. I had to go to a hairdressing appointment this morning, which I was of course dreading because I did not know how or if I could handle being in an upright position for more than a couple of hours. I was bedridden for what felt like weeks. However, I made it through and am happier for it. Now my tresses are shiny and new, which has helped me start to become to feel brighter within myself too.

I've taken a few happy snaps of the outfit I wore today. Another cashmere ensemble, paired with my trusty blue denim jeans and boots. I love the colours of the striped sweater; mint and lime, the perfect colour fruity combo for a wintry day like today. The cable knit cobalt blue scarf I am wearing is HUGE. I love wrapping it around in many different ways. The colour is striking and works really well with an already colourful backdrop.

I am going to be taking it really easy this long weekend. It's my husband's birthday next Tuesday, so we have our mums over for a little celebration to mark this special occasion on Monday evening. I am hoping I feel up to taking Sean out on Tuesday night, for an intimate dinner for two. Besides that, I'll be resting and finalising my student reports.

Have a beautiful long weekend, my lovelies! What are your plans?

On a final note, live each day as though it were your last. Do the things that make you the happiest. Remember, if all else fails, go shopping!! That's what I'll be doing as soon as I'm fully recovered.

Yours in style,

Suzi x

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!  For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette. Check out ...

Ballistic for Bally

I have always loved Bally , especially their shoes. They're made with the softest, luxurious leather I have ever worn. Bally were my first ever pair of high end designer shoes and they fit like a glove. So this post is going to be dedicated to one of the most prestigious design houses and their amazingly comfortable, chic shoes.  Here's some of my favourites from Bally's new S/S '12 collection: Which is your favourite? I love the classic black Otty-Crest pump and the teal and navy Palda wedge sandals. Have a great week! Mine will be an interesting one. I finish teaching for the term this coming Wednesday and go on a staff retreat to Creswick for the rest of the week. I'm looking forward to breathing in the crisp, clean country air! Paint Spot

I've always loved dresses with spots, ever since I spotted Julia Roberts from the movie Pretty Woman, wearing one. They're so feminine and pretty.  A couple of months ago, while perusing Karen Walker 's Spring/Summer collection online, I eyed this paint spot dress and couldn't resist it. I decided I would wear it on Christmas Day, rain, hail or shine. I was so lucky Melbourne's weather was behaving itself that day. Lucky for me! I cannot believe Christmas has been and gone already and now we're into the new year. Over the festive season, a wonderful time was had, catching up with family and my closest friends. We made the traditional roast with all of the trimmings and it was such a perfect day. Christmas has to be my favourite time of the year. How about you? What did you do? I've been enjoying the holidays so far. Of course shopping was high on my priorities, being a lover of all things fashion. I bought myself two beautiful dresses f...
