Ralph & I

I fell in love with Ralph several years ago now & this long-winded love affair has been going stronger each day! I'm talking about Ralph Lauren and his fabulous range of classic pieces that just last and last and never so out of style.

I have shown you some of the Ralph Lauren pieces on some of my blog posts, one of which includes my classic crew neck silk/cashmere sweater (see this post). I purchased this sweater from the DFO (Discount Factory Outlet) in Essendon. It was marked down at a very reasonable price. I love to wear it layered with a shirt underneath. I love the pastel, candy pink shade.

I also showed you my crew neck cable knit, short-sleeved sweater in black, during my own self-taken photo shoot (see this post). I love this sweater because I can layer it & it also stands well on its own. It's a precentage of wool and cashmere and is so warm! I love the detailed rouching on the sleeves. I picked this one up during Ralph Lauren's Winter sales in their gorgeous boutique, located in Collins Street, Melbourne.

Another of my favourite Ralph Lauren sweaters, is the beautiful peachy tone V-neck cable knit in 100% cashmere.  I wore this during the photo shoot my husband & I did a while back, after our wonderful city escape (see this post). I picked this number up on EBay at a fantastic price!

Ralph Lauren used to send my VIP discount  tokens in the mail, which were so great because I would rock up to the store and purchase some shirts and sweaters at about half their original price. I'm not sure if they send these out anymore.

Anyway, there's plenty of reasons why I still love Ralph so. The garments have stood the test of time and are so worth the investment. Investment dressing is what I'm all about!

What bargains have you picked up recently from high-end designers?

Hope you have all had a fabulous weekend and, for those of you who live in Melbourne, hope you enjoy the extra time off!

Yours in style,

Suzi x

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!  For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette. Check out ...

Olga De Polga

Melbourne based designer Olga de Polga  is renowned for their use of colour and vibrant patterns. I really enjoy adding a pop of colour when I style outfits, so if you love colour, you are bound to find something fabulous. On my recent visit, I picked up two pairs of Lillian pants, a new style to ODP, in both pink and caramel. These colours go so well with other pieces in my wardrobe. Style tip: I will not add anything to my wardrobe if it doesn't go with other pieces, so I am very particular when choosing a new piece to add to my collection. The cords fit really well, sitting at mid-waist and fall at the perfect length. The corduroy fabric is soft and feels so cosy, so perfect for Winter here in Melbourne!  Have you visited Olga de Polga? If so, what are your favourite pieces? If you haven't been in store yet, make sure you do so soon, because some styles are selling out really fast. Have a great rest of the week! CHANEL Fall/Winter Haute Couture 2023/24

The CHANEL Fall/Winter Haute Couture 2023/24 was streamed live on Instagram this evening. The show took place along the banks of the Seine, beneath the famous Eiffel Tower. Striking combinations of colours were seen, along with ruffles, bow details on dresses and pattern clashing.  The looks were heavy on embellishments with the Houses' flower, the Camellia, along with hydrangeas and daisies, in a multicoloured kaleidoscope of colours. Twisted rope-like belts adorned models' waistlines and signature gold buttons adorned blazers. Surprising colour combinations were seen, such as red, black and charcoal, as well as orange, pink and gold.  My favourite from the collection was indeed the last look, as it reminded me of a modern take on the bridal gown Audrey Hepburn wore in the movie, 'Funny Face'.  The gown was simple, with a bow detail at the collar, longer sleeves and a shorter, fuller skirt, worn with a short veil. A perfect final look to the beautiful CHANEL haute cou...
