Last Christmas

It's hard to believe that Christmas has been & gone. Hopefully the pace settles down a bit from now on since it is the beginning of a brand new year. What I liked the most about Christmas was the fact I got the chance to relax & unwind with family & friends, after all of the craziness of work.

I love dressing up, as you know, and Christmas is the ultimate time for doing so. I chose to wear my Bettina Liano skirt with a printed blouse.

The blouse I am wearing can be worn in many ways. I chose to tuck it in here, but I have worn it out as well over denim jeans for a more relaxed look. The detailing on the blouse is a mix of florals/liberty prints and geometrical shapes. It's lightweight and so comfortable for warm days. The fact that it is made from 100% silk gives the garment breathability.

When looking for a garment, be it a blouse or a skirt, or even a sweater (and as you know already I am the sweater girl, remember this post?), I always look to see if it has been made from natural fibres. This is my first point of call when selecting garments for my wardrobe.

What outfit did you wear on Christmas day? Did you dress up to the nines or opt to go for a more relaxed look?

Yours in style,
Suzi x

What I'm Wearing: Bettina Liano skirt, Max & Co blouse, Repetto Orson Rich AD Wedge Booties in Marbre, 15 denier Rede pantyhose in the colour nero.

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!  For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette. Check out

Ballistic for Bally

I have always loved Bally , especially their shoes. They're made with the softest, luxurious leather I have ever worn. Bally were my first ever pair of high end designer shoes and they fit like a glove. So this post is going to be dedicated to one of the most prestigious design houses and their amazingly comfortable, chic shoes.  Here's some of my favourites from Bally's new S/S '12 collection: Which is your favourite? I love the classic black Otty-Crest pump and the teal and navy Palda wedge sandals. Have a great week! Mine will be an interesting one. I finish teaching for the term this coming Wednesday and go on a staff retreat to Creswick for the rest of the week. I'm looking forward to breathing in the crisp, clean country air! My top ten must-haves!

Fashion fads come & go, but real style stands the test of time. As mentioned earlier, I'm one for classics versus trends. I love buying clothing that lasts and is therefore timeless.  I have put myself up for the challenge of finding classic pieces using Audrey Hepburn as an example. Here's my list of the top ten must-haves!! 1. Man's style classic buttoned down white shirt 2. LBD-Little Black Dress 3. A-Line dress/skirt 4. Trench Coat (Burberry is the original) 5. Black turtleneck sweater (Preferably cashmere) 6. Leopard print (one piece at a time/NEVER more than one!!) 7. Silk Scarf (Preferably Hermes) 8. Ballet Flats 9. Pearls (Earrings/necklace) 10. Investment handbag (look to Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Prada for classic styles)   What's your favourite out of my top ten must-haves?  Enjoy your weekend and, whatever you do, make sure you do it in st
