Valentine's Day 2025

Every year we absolutely love celebrating Valentine's Day and this year was no exception. I have been fortunate that my husband could take time off work to spend the day with me. There were so many options of what we could do and where to go, places like the countryside in the Yarra Valley or beach town of Torquay, but we ultimately decided to stay in Melbourne, as the weather was going to be around 23 degrees Celsius.

There are many choice of cafes in Melbourne, but one of our favourites is Hello Sailor. I first stumbled upon this quaint cafe when shopping in Auburn Village, located in the leafy suburb of Hawthorn. I pre- ordered an almond croissant as they often sell out and since I cannot eat garlic nor onion, I am very limited with choices. Hubby chose the beef tacos which he enjoyed with a fresh juice and I enjoyed the loose leaf Earl Grey, which is served in the chicest see-through tea pot. We had a lovely chat and a relaxed time.

Afterwards we decided to head to Chadstone Shopping Centre and, after walking around browsing some of the high end stores, decided to stop for afternoon tea at Laurent. Laurent is our go to usually for lunch and we always enjoy their food. I chose the raspberry frangipane tart and hubby enjoyed the pain de chocolate.

In the evening we didn't eat much for dinner as we had gone out already. We had a relaxing evening at home. If we had of chosen to eat out at dinner, most restaurants have a Valentine's Day menu. Since I am restricted with what I can eat, it doesn't work for us! I wish more restaurants would realise this and offer both the Valentine's menu as well as the a la carte menu.

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt! For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! Ballistic for Bally

I have always loved Bally , especially their shoes. They're made with the softest, luxurious leather I have ever worn. Bally were my first ever pair of high end designer shoes and they fit like a glove. So this post is going to be dedicated to one of the most prestigious design houses and their amazingly comfortable, chic shoes. Here's some of my favourites from Bally's new S/S '12 collection: Which is your favourite? I love the classic black Otty-Crest pump and the teal and navy Palda wedge sandals. Have a great week! Mine will be an interesting one. I finish teaching for the term this coming Wednesday and go on a staff retreat to Creswick for the rest of the week. Dreaming of Valentino

I have always been a HUGE fan of Valentino . When Princess Bea wore a Valentino dress (who can forget that hat?) to the Royal Wedding of William and Kate, I was left breathless. I discovered Red Valentino a little while back, while window shopping online on The Outnet . I found it to be a cheaper alternative to Valentino, if you can call it cheap. It's still quite expensive to the average person, but with a bit of saving, realistic, nonetheless. Here are some of my favourites from the new S/S '12 collection (apologies for the small photographs): Durance en Provence is a boutique which stocks their namesake beauty range, as well as a plethora of high end designers from around the world, including Red Valentino.
