There's a trend going about town at the moment and it's HUGE! I'm talking about florals. They're the type of florals that remind me of my parents' Moran coach growing up and of Laura Ashley bedspreads. I admire the trend on other people, but cannot seem to bring myself to wear it for myself. Don't get me wrong, I love the look of florals. I'm a girly-girl after all and appreciate a bouquet every once in a while. However, I prefer my florals petite to suit my frame.  I remember walking into Max & Co store at Chadstone Shopping Centre one day (for those of you who live overseas, this would equate to a massive Macy's). As I searched the racks for the piece that 'did it' for me, I finished up completely dry of any inspiration. I loved Jolet's previous collection, but what of her latest Autumn/Winter collection? Jolet continues to weave her creative magic through digital printing, modern silhouettes and fabulously luxurious fabrics. Streamlined, fitted & A-line silhouettes feature heavily in her new range. I love the fact Jolet has been able to cater to different body shapes by not sticking to the one style. Not everyone likes to wear fitted clothing.  Ruching, pleating and gathering and twists & turns, add an element of femininity and innocence. I fell in love with Ralph several years ago now & this long-winded love affair has been going stronger each day! I'm talking about Ralph Lauren and his fabulous range of classic pieces that just last and last and never so out of style.  I have shown you some of the Ralph Lauren pieces on some of my blog posts, one of which includes my classic crew neck silk/cashmere sweater ( see this post ). I purchased this sweater from the DFO (Discount Factory Outlet) in Essendon. It was marked down at a very reasonable price. I love to wear it layered with a shirt underneath. I love the pastel, candy pink shade.   I also showed you my crew neck cable knit, short-sleeved sweater in black, during my own self-taken photo shoot ( see this post ). I love this sweater because I can layer it & it also stands well on its own. It's a precentage of wool and cashmere and is so warm! I love the detailed rouching on the sleeves. I couldn't wait to complete this special feature on the fabulous Melbourne designer, Arabella Ramsay. Her eponymous label began in Arabella's bedroom, after graduating from RMIT and spending some time in Paris. She returned home to Australia, ever so inspired.  Finally, once demands for her designs skyrocketed, Arabella opened up her very first boutique on High Street, Armadale. The year was 2006. Fast-forward to 2012, and Arabella Ramsay is still going stronger than ever.  Arabella Ramsay grew up on a farm, and her childhood memories of the animals, the land and her family, have become a great inspiration for her collections. I love stripes, especially navy & white. It's very Parisian chic! My favourite Breton striped cashmere/silk blend sweater has been the absolute best investment of all time.  There are trends that come and go and then there are classics. I tend to steer towards the classics. The striped boatneck sweater is yet another timeless piece which should live in everyone's closet. Audrey Hepburn Brigette Bardot I stumbled across some old pics of movie starlets wearing nautical stripes, such as my favourite style icon, Audrey Hepburn. Years have passed and the striped sweater still looks as fabulous as it did back in its heyday.     This sweater I'm wearing is by Australian label Bezoar .
