Gold Brocade

Late last year, I saw this beautiful cream and gold brocade skirt in one of my favourite boutiques in Port Melbourne, Diva Scandinavia. I was hoping to find something to wear for Christmas, but nothing caught my eye. Just when I was about to give up, my husband drew my attention to their sales rack. There it was, the skirt of my dreams, and it was half price! How could I resist? An added bonus was the fact this it was a limited edition piece. SOLD!

The funny thing about this skirt was that prior to purchasing it, I had a picture in my mind of the exact same type of brocade skirt, but thought I'd have to get it made because I had seen nothing like it in any of the shops I frequent. Little did I know that I would find it hanging on a rack, ready made, and in my size too. Life's funny like that sometimes. Some things are just meant to be.

I had another very full-on week of work and the Summer holidays I had not that long ago now feel like a distant memory. I've certainly been faced with some challenges at work of late, but have risen above them a stronger person, with a vision for a promising year. I think it's really important that no matter how hard things may get, one must never, ever give up.

I'm also very happy to say I managed to find time in between all of my work commitments to apply for media accreditation for the LMFF in March. Cross your fingers that it is approved. One can only live in hope. Plus, if you don't try, you won't succeed.

Wishing you the perfect kind of weekend!

Yours in style,
Suzi x

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!  For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette. Check out

Ballistic for Bally

I have always loved Bally , especially their shoes. They're made with the softest, luxurious leather I have ever worn. Bally were my first ever pair of high end designer shoes and they fit like a glove. So this post is going to be dedicated to one of the most prestigious design houses and their amazingly comfortable, chic shoes.  Here's some of my favourites from Bally's new S/S '12 collection: Which is your favourite? I love the classic black Otty-Crest pump and the teal and navy Palda wedge sandals. Have a great week! Mine will be an interesting one. I finish teaching for the term this coming Wednesday and go on a staff retreat to Creswick for the rest of the week. I'm looking forward to breathing in the crisp, clean country air! Fashion fads come & go, but real style stands the test of time. As mentioned earlier, I'm one for classics versus trends. Here's my list of the top ten must-haves!! 1. Man's style classic buttoned down white shirt 2. LBD-Little Black Dress 3. A-Line dress/skirt 4. Trench Coat (Burberry is the original) 5. Black turtleneck sweater (Preferably cashmere) 6. Leopard print (one piece at a time/NEVER more than one!!) 7. Silk Scarf (Preferably Hermes) 8. Ballet Flats 9. Pearls (Earrings/necklace) 10. Investment handbag (look to Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Prada for classic styles)   What's your favourite out of my top ten must-haves?  Enjoy your weekend and, whatever you do, make sure you do it in st
