Marcs Spring 2012

The last time I stepped foot into the Marcs concept store at Westfield Doncaster, I could count on all my fingers the number of items I would wear. Their new Spring 2012 campaign has many chic looks, classic styles, colours and silhouettes.

I like the fact Marcs is in the middle range price wise, making it more accessible than other higher-end stores for the average working person. I am always seeking labels which are high quality, but easy on your purse strings. Not that I have much budget for clothing at the moment. I'm stocking up on skincare and makeup at the moment, and you know how much that costs!

So here are some of the looks from the Marcs Spring Campaign. I'm craving the green sweater and mint skirt and the mustard spotted dress with the white peter pan collar. Which looks are you craving?

Work has been crazy and everything seems to be happening all at once. I am really looking forward to the school holidays which are coming up in 10 days. My husband and I are going on a road trip throughout Victoria and New South Wales and are in desperate need of some downtime.

Have an awesome week!

Yours in style,

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!  For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette. Check out

Ballistic for Bally

I have always loved Bally , especially their shoes. They're made with the softest, luxurious leather I have ever worn. Bally were my first ever pair of high end designer shoes and they fit like a glove. So this post is going to be dedicated to one of the most prestigious design houses and their amazingly comfortable, chic shoes.  Here's some of my favourites from Bally's new S/S '12 collection: Which is your favourite? I love the classic black Otty-Crest pump and the teal and navy Palda wedge sandals. Have a great week! Mine will be an interesting one. I finish teaching for the term this coming Wednesday and go on a staff retreat to Creswick for the rest of the week. I'm looking forward to breathing in the crisp, clean country air! Fashion fads come & go, but real style stands the test of time. As mentioned earlier, I'm one for classics versus trends. I love buying clothing that lasts and is therefore timeless.  I have put myself up for the challenge of finding classic pieces using Audrey Hepburn as an example. Here's my list of the top ten must-haves!! 1. Man's style classic buttoned down white shirt 2. LBD-Little Black Dress 3. A-Line dress/skirt 4. Trench Coat (Burberry is the original) 5. Black turtleneck sweater (Preferably cashmere) 6. Leopard print (one piece at a time/NEVER more than one!!) 7. Silk Scarf (Preferably Hermes) 8. Ballet Flats 9. Pearls (Earrings/necklace) 10. Investment handbag (look to Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Prada for classic styles)   What's your favourite out of my top ten must-haves?  Enjoy your weekend and, whatever you do, make sure you do it in st
