First day of Spring!

I made a huge leap of joy in celebration of the first day of Spring! Spring has finally sprung in Melbourne and I love it! I had really had enough of the l-o-n-g Winter we have had.

I am happy to leave behind cold nights, rugged up in winter woollies, walks with the dog, wearing what feels like fifteen million layers, with the goal of trying to keep warm. You see, I feel the cold badly. Now that Spring is here, I feel comfort in knowing the sunshine will warm the cockles of my heart and make everything feel just so wonderful. It's a wonder what a bit of sun can do for the soul. Oh, how I love Spring!

I enjoyed sitting in the sunshine today and took some happy snaps of my outfit. I really love these Arabella Ramsay skinny jeans and the lightweight cashmere sweater I have on is one of my favourites. My Repetto patent leather wedges are extremely comfy and I always feel fab wearing them (oh, and tall!). Thanks to Deb at Treasurette for stocking this Parisian label. I wish I could come to your gorgeous boutique again to purchase another pair. I shall have to save up! My husband helped to take some outfit shots as well and we had a lot of fun and lots of laughs!!

Unfortunately, I didn't get to the Bassike boutique opening today, as I was still feeling a bit under the weather. I'll save it for another sunny day, when I'm feeling on top of the world! I hope those of you who did go, managed to snap up some wonderful garments for the Springtime.

I had my fringe trimmed this morning by the fabulous Yoshi at Rokk Ebony salon. It was getting a tad too long! I am still enjoying my hair this length and the colour as well. My Elemis skincare arrived in the post the other day and, so far, the Daily Redness Relief cream is making a difference (see this post for details).

Enjoy your weekend!!

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!  For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette. Check out

Ballistic for Bally

I have always loved Bally , especially their shoes. They're made with the softest, luxurious leather I have ever worn. Bally were my first ever pair of high end designer shoes and they fit like a glove. So this post is going to be dedicated to one of the most prestigious design houses and their amazingly comfortable, chic shoes.  Here's some of my favourites from Bally's new S/S '12 collection: Which is your favourite? I love the classic black Otty-Crest pump and the teal and navy Palda wedge sandals. Have a great week! Mine will be an interesting one. I finish teaching for the term this coming Wednesday and go on a staff retreat to Creswick for the rest of the week. I'm looking forward to breathing in the crisp, clean country air! Olga De Polga

Melbourne based designer Olga de Polga  is renowned for their use of colour and vibrant patterns. I really enjoy adding a pop of colour when I style outfits, so if you love colour, you are bound to find something fabulous. On my recent visit, I picked up two pairs of Lillian pants, a new style to ODP, in both pink and caramel. These colours go so well with other pieces in my wardrobe. Style tip: I will not add anything to my wardrobe if it doesn't go with other pieces, so I am very particular when choosing a new piece to add to my collection. The cords fit really well, sitting at mid-waist and fall at the perfect length. The corduroy fabric is soft and feels so cosy, so perfect for Winter here in Melbourne!  Have you visited Olga de Polga? If so, what are your favourite pieces? If you haven't been in store yet, make sure you do so soon, because some styles are selling out really fast. Have a great rest of the week! Yours in style, Suzi x  What I'm Wearing ODP Lillian pants
