I blog, therefore I am

I blog & I live in Melbourne. Two very real elements of my life I am certainly proud of. Just when I thought I couldn't feel prouder, along came Nuffnang Fashionopolis.

There I was, on a chilly Saturday morning, sitting amongst the who's who of the Melbourne fashion scene at 1000 Pound Bend, Little Lonsdale Street, Melbourne. I was certain that this was the place to be, amongst the buzzing sounds of fashionistas, chatting away face-to-face and over cyberspace, via platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.

The brainchild behind this extraordinary event was none other than the Lady herself, Lady Melbourne. Phoebe Montague, aka Lady Melbourne, is one of the original Melbourne bloggers, beginning her journey back in 2007. Meeting Phoebes Montague was certainly the highlight of the day. I learned a great deal from her about the business of blogging, including the very important topic of blogging etiquette.

Sponsored by Inner Circle @ Sunglass Hut, I had fun browsing and trying on sunglasses available, from design houses such as Prada and  mui mui. Sunglass Hut staff offered  instant Polaroids. Polaroids have made quite a come back and I must say that it was pretty cool to receive an instant snap of myself.

Another highlight of the day was Fashion Torque, Melbourne's only live Fashion chat show, founded by the ever fabulous Jenny Bannister and always handsome Philip Boon. Special panelists on the day were Sarah Gale fo Sarah Gale  of The Iconic and Patti Huntington of Frockwriter

The final presentation was on the topic of how to monetise your blog. This segment was presented by Kyra Pybus of Pybus PR, David Krupp of Nuffnang Australia and jewellery designer, Amber Venz of VENZedits.

It was amazing to put many faces to names and meet fellow fashionistas/bloggers in the flesh. There was an awesome sense of community in this one room and I felt really lucky to be a part of something quite unique and fabulous.

I hope that there are plenty more of these special events for bloggers in the future. When there is, I look forward to sharing the next one with you again.

Have a fashionable day, my special readers!

Yours in style,

Suzi x

French nautical

Ilove stripes, especially navy & white. It's very Parisian chic! My favourite Breton striped cashmere/silk blend sweater has been the absolute best investment of all time.

There are trends that come and go and then there are classics. I tend to steer towards the classics. The striped boatneck sweater is yet another timeless piece which should live in everyone's closet.

I stumbled across some old pics of movie starlets wearing nautical stripes, such as my favourite style icon, Audrey Hepburn. Years have passed and the striped sweater still looks as fabulous as it did back in its heyday.

This sweater I'm wearing is by Australian label Bezoar. They seem to have fallen off the radar at present, so I hope that in the future I can purchase another one like this!

This is my go-to outfit for comfort and style when I need to run some errands. What's yours?
Hoping that your weekend was fabulous and your week is even better!

Top 5: Miu Miu Edit S/S '19

Another live stream runway show I had the pleasure of viewing was the Miu Miu Spring/Summer '19 show live from Paris Fashion Week. A highlight included looks from the red carpet as worn by famous models, actresses and digital influences, such as Australia's very own Margaret Zhang. Another highlight included seeing the image projection of models onto the new Miu Miu logo. Although, seemingly "out there", it was a very interesting and exciting way to begin the show.

I loved the bow details as seen on blouses, headbands, eyewear and shoes. Tailored blazers and coats from an array of luxe fabrics were seen in the majority of looks from the collection.

The new Spring/Summer '19 Miu Miu collecion captures the very essence of the brand: feminine, chic and girly. Lots of sparkles, glitter and crystals featured in the new collection, an element that has become Miu Miu's signature. I couldn't help but capture tiny hints reminiscent of the 1920s "Flapper Girl&…

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango!
The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!

For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette.
