Paloma Bleu

One weekend, after running some errands, my husband & I decided to stop off at Albert Park to peruse the boutique-lined strip that is Bridport Street. We came across a quaint boutique called Paloma Bleu. Paloma Bleu is a boutique which specialises in unique designer garments that fill in the gaps which some other retailers leave out.

Boutique owner, Laura Williamson, friendly down-to-earth, and approachable demeanor put me at ease immediately. This retail space has a wonderful ambiance about it. With a six year background in customer retail, working in London for Paul & Jo and in Melbourne at Bettina Liano's Chapel street boutique, is it any wonder that Laura knows a thing or two about style & customer service. Laura is passionate about meeting her clients wants and needs and sources her garments accordingly.

I noticed lots of candy coloured cashmere sweaters on the left of me as I entered the boutique. They were by none other than Australian designer label Banjo & Matilda, owned & run by Belynda Macpherson.

Paloma Bleu stocks over 20 labels, both locally and internationally. Such labels include Australian and New Zealand labels Karen Walker, Josh Goot, Ellery and international labels such as Lem Lem and Demylee (New York).

With a style icon like Alexa Chung (see this post) as Paloma Bleu's ideal customer, I'd say they Bleu are onto something big. Watch this space!

So, when you're next headed out the door for that special shopping experience, in search of a unique garment you won't find everyone wearing, head into Paloma Bleu. You won't be disappointed! I'm sure you will find something you'll love. Now, for saving up my pennies!!

Yours in style,

Suzi x

Paloma Bleu is located at 176 Bridport Street, Albert Park, Victoria, Australia. Open every day: Mon-Fri 10am-6pm, Sat 10-5pm Sun 11-4pm. Images courtesy of Laura Williamson.

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!  For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette. Check out

Olga De Polga

Melbourne based designer Olga de Polga  is renowned for their use of colour and vibrant patterns. I really enjoy adding a pop of colour when I style outfits, so if you love colour, you are bound to find something fabulous. On my recent visit, I picked up two pairs of Lillian pants, a new style to ODP, in both pink and caramel. These colours go so well with other pieces in my wardrobe. Style tip: I will not add anything to my wardrobe if it doesn't go with other pieces, so I am very particular when choosing a new piece to add to my collection. The cords fit really well, sitting at mid-waist and fall at the perfect length. The corduroy fabric is soft and feels so cosy, so perfect for Winter here in Melbourne!  Have you visited Olga de Polga? If so, what are your favourite pieces? If you haven't been in store yet, make sure you do so soon, because some styles are selling out really fast. Have a great rest of the week! Yours in style, Suzi x  What I'm Wearing ODP Lillian pants

Grace Kelly: Style Icon

Some of you may know already that I recently went on a country  girls' getaway with my mother to Bendigo to view the Grace Kelly: A Style Icon exhibition. I am so thrilled that I did! It was simply amazing.  The package I purchased was the Country Girls' Getaway, which included one nights accomadation at the City Centre Motel (4 star), breakfast, in-house Grace Kelly Movies, plus 2 x tickets to the exhibition. The special pack I received upon check-in, which included a terrific shopping and dining guide, special discounts and maps. The exhibition was held at the Bendigo Art Gallery. The session was timed by the hour to prevent the influx of visitors, which I felt worked really well. There was plenty of room and I didn't feel like I needed to hurry up, so instead, took my time, taking in every detail. I could have spent all day looking at every single minute detail of each and every one of the stunning gowns that adorned this beau
