my winter skin savers

Over the past month or so, I have had to crank my skincare up a notch and have been following a very strict regime. Why, you ask? Because Winter plays havoc with skin. Heating, cold winds and not enough sunlight, makes anyone's skin look pale, dehydrated and lack-lustre. So in this blog post, I am going to share with you my secret to getting healthy looking, radiant skin, which is perfectly hydrated throughout the harsh Winter months.

First and foremost, I use the best skincare that I can possibly afford, which happens to be La Mer. If you choose the right products, and, believe me, I have tried pretty much every brand-low and high-end, your skin will thank you for it. I choose to invest in my skin, because, after all, you only get one skin and, given that it is the largest organ of the body, I can justify the expense.

Consistently following the four steps to great skin-every morning and evening (cleanse, tone, apply serum & moisturise) leaves my skin in tip-top condition each and every day. In conjunction to this, once a week, I use a gentle exfoliant and a hydrating mask.

Add to this routine, my Clarisonic and what you get is perfectly toned, hydrated and radiant skin. Prior to purchasing it, I had heard rave reviews about this sonic cleansing system on the Internet and YouTube. Putting it bluntly, I thought it was all a load of codswallop, but it turns out everyone who had raved about it, was absolutely spot on! The clarisonic is AMAZING! The honest truth is that I simply cannot live without it. Amongst the other benefits I have noticed, my skincare is better absorbed now which has made a HUGE difference to how my skin looks. I'll do a more comprehensive post on this soon, so look out for that in the next couple of weeks.

My other tip for beautiful Winter skin is using a hydrating foundation. Regardless of what type of skin you have, we all need our skin to be hydrated throughout the day. My top choice is Chanel Vitalumiere in shade #10 Limpide (suitable for dry skins-if you're oily try Vitalumiere Aqua.) It's the perfect shade for my pale Winter skin. I just love it!

I combine these things with a healthy diet (everything in moderation, of course!) and I try to drink lots of water to hydrate my cells on the inside too.

Until next time, take care! Enjoy the rest of the weekend. After a two week break , I'm back at work on Monday. Time flies when you're having fun!

Stay stylishly happy!

gelati in the gardens

I was joking with my better half about the outfit I chose to wear to our special family reunion. We needed to travel into the city to the Fitzroy Gardens, and on our journey, we kept eachother entertained by thinking of gelati flavours which matched my oufit. In the end we decided upon raspberry, strawberry, vanilla & mango! The morning was quite fresh, so I decided to wear a layer of silk/cashmere over my silk chiffon shirt. This magical blend always comes through when I'm in need of extra warmth and comfort. This ensemble was the perfect match for my raspberry coloured skirt!  For a picnic, flats seemed like the perfect choice, because of their practicality. So I decided to bring a touch of mango to the gelati mix! These mustard coloured, patent leather ballet flats, are so chic and comfortable. They are one of my favourite pairs of Repetto ballet flats, purchased from the fabulous Alice & Deb at Treasurette. Check out

Olga De Polga

Melbourne based designer Olga de Polga  is renowned for their use of colour and vibrant patterns. I really enjoy adding a pop of colour when I style outfits, so if you love colour, you are bound to find something fabulous. On my recent visit, I picked up two pairs of Lillian pants, a new style to ODP, in both pink and caramel. These colours go so well with other pieces in my wardrobe. Style tip: I will not add anything to my wardrobe if it doesn't go with other pieces, so I am very particular when choosing a new piece to add to my collection. The cords fit really well, sitting at mid-waist and fall at the perfect length. The corduroy fabric is soft and feels so cosy, so perfect for Winter here in Melbourne!  Have you visited Olga de Polga? If so, what are your favourite pieces? If you haven't been in store yet, make sure you do so soon, because some styles are selling out really fast. Have a great rest of the week! Yours in style, Suzi x  What I'm Wearing ODP Lillian pants

Grace Kelly: Style Icon

Some of you may know already that I recently went on a country  girls' getaway with my mother to Bendigo to view the Grace Kelly: A Style Icon exhibition. I am so thrilled that I did! It was simply amazing.  The package I purchased was the Country Girls' Getaway, which included one nights accomadation at the City Centre Motel (4 star), breakfast, in-house Grace Kelly Movies, plus 2 x tickets to the exhibition. The special pack I received upon check-in, which included a terrific shopping and dining guide, special discounts and maps. The exhibition was held at the Bendigo Art Gallery. The session was timed by the hour to prevent the influx of visitors, which I felt worked really well. There was plenty of room and I didn't feel like I needed to hurry up, so instead, took my time, taking in every detail. I could have spent all day looking at every single minute detail of each and every one of the stunning gowns that adorned this beau
